Don't worry too much that the instructions don't specifcally mention guinea pigs, the important thing is the dosage. My vet has given me stuff that the box says is for cats, but always been very very careful to prescribe correct dose for piggies. Hope all goes well for your piggy. x
Yes, My piggy was prescribed Metacam but only has 0.2ml once a day as it is for dogs. It came with a massive syringe but I use a 1ml one as the one that came with the Metacam is too big to put in her mouth. It is very fiddly to do though lol. My vet however, explained to me that there could be side effects and to stop treatment straight away if any occured. She also explained that it wasn't a licensed drug for guinea pigs but could still be used if done properly and given in the correct dosage
