I'm just curious - what is the feeding schedule for your piggies? If you don't have one, what do you feed your piggies usually?
My Alfie gets his hay rack filled in the mornings around 7 ish with Oxbow Western Timothy Hay or Oxbow Hay Blends Western Timithy and Orchard Grass. In the mornings around 7 he also gets one spoonfull of Oxbow Essentials Adult Guinea Pig Food. In the afternoons, around 4 ish he gets his one cup of veggies that usually consists of romaine lettuce, sometimes baby carrots and kale, he also gets his hay rack refilled in the afternoons at 4. In the evenings around 8 or 9 he gets his hay rack refilled.
Please be aware i am getting Alfie a companion next month.
I have the same exact feeding schedule. Except, I give baby carrots once a week. I give Romaine lettuce mixed with Spring Mix in the morning, then green leaf lettuce in the afternoon. I also blend in Oxbow Western Timothy Hay with Orchard Grass.![]()
I am now starting to feed baby carrots only twice a week because of the high sugar and calcium.
Alfie is recovering from a tummy upset because i didnt know carrots should only be fed twice a week and not everyday.
It's ok, there are a lot of things I didn't know before I came upon the forum. I hope Alfie feels better soon!
