Okay so I'm still rather anxious and paranoid about the experience of dealing with ringworm on Misty. I never thought it would bother me as much as it has, but here we are.

I've got a few questions about it:

Misty was treated every day for 3 weeks using intrafungal.
I bathed her once weekly, and f10'd her cage every week.
Ultimately since her being given the all clear from the vet, everything that she would've been in contact with has been thrown away.
During treatment I was wearing clothes that were washed at 60 every day. Including disposable gloves each day.

Her all clear was given on the 7th April. No new signs are yet to appear. However I've seen some others mentions they've had new outbreaks 6 months down the line, but as my mum has said we don't know the full extent of their environmental decontamination. I know I can't live worrying about another outbreak, but anyone who's dealt with mental illness will know that's easier said than done.

I guess I'm on the hunt for some more positive stories of it, as everything that's ever posted online tends to be negative and worst case scenarios.

Thank you in advance.

My piggies had bad ringworm last summer. I even ended up with it myself! :( It took a while to treat but once it had gone it didn't come back :D
Sounds like you've done a good job treating it so I don't think it'll come back :tu:

I think you've done everything you possibly could to minimise any ongoing infection risk, I am still paranoid about ringworm 6 months after Blodwen arrived with it and 5 months after we got the all clear- I was scared today in fact as her nose fur looked a bit ruffled up and I was terrified it had come back! After getting the all clear from the vets, if your family and piggies are all healthy at the moment, that's what you need to focus on. You got it diagnosed and treated straight away and followed all the proper hygiene precautions, and if it happens again you'd do just the same, so its all under control.
Ringworm horror stories do happen but so do all kinds of other illness horror stories, you would be very unlucky if it came back, but if it did, well, its nothing you did wrong and you totally know how to spot it and handle it next time! Sending hugs x

Thank you for the support. It's nice to hear the stories where once has been it!

Thank you so much for this support. And it's nice finding someone that understands the paranoia. Especially as my girls are in my bedroom, I felt like my entire room was being contaminated :( although everywhere has been f10d. I believe the only possible way a spore could've got through would be on her face as this is the only place you can't properly wash. However the ringworm was on her back rather than her face so I'm hoping the chance of facial spores is rare anyway? Hopefully now her vitamin C levels are topped up and her stress levels are lowered, her immune system will hopefully be able to tackle it
