Thank you for replying will try and see vet for reassuranceThe photo isnt very clear but you should first check with a vet to rule out an infection like bumblefoot. If it is just slightly dry or sore skin that isnt cracked or infected the vet might prescribe some antiseptic foot wipes (CLX wipes for cleaning cat and dog paws) to stop any infection getting in, then vaseline. If it is just dry skin then Gorgeous Guineas do some great foot creams for piggies, we have a piggy with slightly sore flaky feet who likes to sit in her own wee and we use the CLX wipes from the vet to clean her feet then use the gorgeous guineas foot cream twice a week.
My daughter is concerned about one of her piggies
She's noticed that the feet is a bit dry n scaly. Any advice View attachment 113373
I would like to let you know that the vet said it could be the start of spurs so from now on we will be giving Nutmeg (the guinea pig) some salt baths on her feet and rubbing in a small amount of sudocrem daily. Hopefully that will help. Thank you again for giving us advice on what we should do. ☺
