Fudge Not Eating, Drinking Or Wanting To Move At All

So my latest update is full of sadness- after initailly showing some progress and seeming be getting through it, Fudge went into rapid decline this evening and eventually lost his fight. He didn't have much of a chance in the first place as too much time had passed and it's quite likely that the bloat had just caused too much damage. Thank you everyone for all your kind words and well wishes x

I am very sad to hear poor Fudge lost his fight. :( RIP

BIG HUGS

I am really sorry! Sadly it is not at all rare that the bloat comes back worse than before.

What happened with Fudge is the same as what happened to my Ceri who I lost a year ago pretty much to the day and despite doing all the right things straight from the start. Severe bloat usually hits very quickly and even with the best of care, you are very much up against the odds. Many of the older forum members have lost a guinea pig to bloat at some point or other - scant consolation as that may be you right now! :(

You have done your very best and Fudge has been in good hands. Sadly, that is all we can do.

Thank you everyone for all your kind words and support :)
It is some reassurance to know that it isn't uncommon to lose them to bloat- my condolences to all that have in the past. Though it would be nice if there was more we could do for them once they have it, or even better if they didn't get it at all!
But at the very least i know he had the very best of everything from birth, had the best treatment and is no longer in pain. And as soon as it is light enough for me to dig a hole he will buried next to his best bud, that we lost a couple of years ago xx
