i know from having chickens, sometimes its best to integrate them in the evening and overnight as they arent the brightest animals and they get along better that way
ill b up early tommorrow and out there to check :)

A lot of the time its just us humans putting our own feelings to animals, Merry may just prefer to be outside at the moment lol and us being worriers think thats they're leaving her out! I know Niki on here had one who she thought was being left out so she got another one to be her friend but they all ganged up on it, turned out the piggy just preferred to be alone lol! See how they go and if she starts to seem depressed maybe split them back into their pairs? x

yeh, she was the main one getitng picked on today, if fergie went for anyone it would be Merry, but i think it was the fact she was quite dominant over rosie when it was just the two of them. but I'm going to do one more check before I go to bed - then i just hope they all play fair till the morning.

just went out to check and Hamish was with Merry (oo-err) then when i went inside the shed, he ran in and merry didnt move and kept munching, so i think shes happy... :smitten:

aw it sounds like they're settling down :) I've had so much trouble in the past bonding pigs! Just got to give it time and not worry that every little nip is going to turn into a full scale fight ::) I've got to bond a pair of sows to another on saturday!

i feel complete rubbish

ok, now i feel like a crap mum :'( just went out and she was all alone in the big box on her own, then mum had a go at me because i 'rushed it all too much' (which i probably did) and now shes making me really worried about merry being left out all evening on her own, and she also said that the box Fergie, Hamish and Rosie was in was too small for another one, SO! i have put the big igloo full of hay in there, and I'm gonna check her again before I go to bed. but jee-wiz.... :'( :-\...I just dont want to go out tommorrow and finding a guinea dead from cold

She wont die from cold, this is why you need 4 igloo's, they wont always want to be together, just put as many boxes/igloos in as you have and loads of hay

Yeh i have the big box that the four of them are in now, but i can tell merrys gonna move out and hopefully into the igloo and snuggle there. I want her snuggled in my bed :( Well I havent got space in the cool-frame for 4 igloo's- I'm going to get another one when the big run arrives and my grandads making me a box for them outta wood, so its long and wide and tall for all four of them. so in a week they should have one big wooden box, two igloo's and a small cardboard box as well

i said that to mum, that she just might feel over-crowded in ther little box, i just hope everythings ok tommorrow :'(

thanks ever so much, ill be out there every 2 hours....and i got work tommorrow 98)

I'm sure they'll be fine :) unless they're fighting they're usually ok. She'll need time to get used to living with more piggys xx

often one gets left out when putting pigs together for the first time. Mine occasionally force the youngest pig out of their igloo but I have 3 igloos in the cage so there's always somewhere for her to go. Put lots of hay in a corner if you can't fit another igloo in.

yeh well theres a space place, I'm gonna try and get into town and pick up another for when the big run arrives, ill always have little places for them to be in, its just fitting them in lol

jsut went out to check them, as I'm doing it nearly every hour ::) and they are thoroughly confusing, fergie, rosie and merry and ALL in one igloo and Hamish is in the big shoe box on his own.

do you think they are just running around testing my nerves ;D

yep ;D ;D

I'm sure they're fine! It could be that they're all out n they all run in when they hear you coming except Merry?

arg.....they are doing a good job, I'm gonna get down to P@H asap tommorrow and get another cocoon/Igloo for them - this is what they have....so I'm gonna get another one in prep for when the run arrives.

- 2 of them fit fine in there

I would just leave them to it and let them settle if there has been no fur flying and they have room to find their own space they will be fine until the morning, you going and checking on them lots will just be disturbing them, they have all had a lot of chages lately I would just leave them be for tonight and sort out some more igloos etc in the morning.
How long have they been in together as a four? You mentioned some dominance sorting during today?

they have been in together for the day, i put them in about 11? yeh there was a bit of fur flying as fergie was telling the other girls to leave him, but theres none of that now, they just keep swapping houses, but i have put a third box crammed with hay, so theres a third place just in case one gets left out and they have no where to go.
