Hi everyone! I am new here for anyone who doesn't know my piggy Gin and me.

My piggy has a high-quality fleece liner from "Guineadad", since that was my only fleece liner I decided to get him another one from a different brand on Amazon, but it's also very nice quality. His new liner arrived today and I decided to put it in his cage right away as I did with his previous guineadad liner when it arrived, because it was packed in extra bags and everything. But the new liner arrived in the shipping bag only, without any extra bag or box inside for the liner. and I did not wash it because I thought it would be clean and safe to put it in his cage.
My piggy seemed happy at first, started sniffing everything and licking the new liner, also rubbing his butt on it, squeaking and running around, which are all normal behavior, but he also started shaking his head but slowly, walking around, and lying down in the middle spots, where he usually never lies down.. he also started itching his ears with his legs, but it stopped.. he was acting strange now he walked around licked here and there and went in his hidey house and lied down, he does not seem to be in a good mood anymore.
My question is, can he be allergic to new fleece for some reason? Is he getting sick or something from it or is his behavior normal? Can he get anything from the liner since I did not wash it first?
Thank you all!

It’s most likely because his cage no longer smells of him, hence his scent marking. I wouldn’t be concerned.

However, you should wash all new fleeces before use otherwise they tend not to wick properly meaning you could find pools of urine where it won’t soak in properly until it has been washed a few times.

Thank you for your reply and your help! I will wash them next time I buy a new one.
This is not related to liners but I noticed that one of his poops was a little different shape than his normal ones, it was kind of long and with a small pointy end on one side only. Also, his buttock started to get bigger lately and it's like two things hanging on his butt, but it does not look bad or anything. Is it normal or I should take him to a vet? (I am sorry for my english, it's not my first language and I can't explain some things properly :D)

Your english is very good!

Without a picture, I can only make a guess, but it sounds as if the things you can see are likely to be his testicles which are now descending. this happens at around 4 months of age.

Keep an eye on his poop.
If you see more or worsening abnormal or soft poops, then stop giving veg, switch from weekly weight checks to instead weighing him daily, syringe feed if he starts to lose weight and see a vet.

Thank you!
Yes, I thought the same thing that it's just his testicles. And I will definitely keep an eye on his poop and see how everything will go.
Have a wonderful weekend! :D
