I can’t really tell what it is. Does it feel like something is dried on?
No, it is definitely part of the skin.Is it something stuck to the fur - food or a scab?
A day or so, but I was told it was probably just a spot.I’d have it checked out then. Did you first notice it today?
A day or so, but I was told it was probably just a spot.
no, although this guinea pig is more prone to ticks than my others, and they always attach on the faceWho said it was probably just a spot? Had you noticed anything there previously?
what is cheilitis?Who told you that?
There will be a cause for it - i would have it checked by a vet in case it is the start of cheilitis
well, I have no idea how it got there, just one day it was normal, the next day the was a green lump there. I have no dogs, and none come around our place.Guinea pigs generally don’t have species specific ticks if I remember correctly. Do you have dogs? And you’re sure it’s not something else and not ticksV
what is cheilitis?
OKI’d just take him to the vet. I don’t know that whatever it is previously was ticks. Let us know how you get on.
I looked it up, but it looks like scabby lips, whereas Albie's is a smooth green lump on his noseA bacterial infection of the lips. If it is cheilitis then piggy will require treatment
