Guinea-Tia-Flossie

I have noticed these past few days Guinea is really looking sad since losing Ruby :( He hasn't squeaked in a while and sits in his box looking all lonely!

I can't wait to find him a friend, but i have to wait until Sunday to ring the rescue and even then i might not get the guinea pigs that were there! I hate seeing him like this as it's so out of charactor. I just hope i can get him a friend soon.

Is there anything i can do to cheer him up for now?

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

Yes.I have a baby boy that needs a new friend in a week or two ( aka Galaxy)

would that help?

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

Have you got someone near you who has a some piggies, if you could borrow them if he could hear other pigs and see them it may make him feel more at ease, I expect he is mourning the same as we do, did his cage mate die in the cage with him or was he/she seperated. sorry have to ask?

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

I wouldn't let him interact with another/other guinea pig(s), unless you plan on keeping it/them. Defiantly find him a friend ASAP but I think the best thing you could do for now is give him as much attention as possible. Keep us informed. O0

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

Galaxy will be looking for a home at the end of next wheek, hes one of Tia's 2 babies ( chocolate and white colour) and I said you could have one when she had them ;)

anyway lemme know Jeanette?

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

Hey theres an offer - I'd snap her hand off if I were you!

Why not if he can hear other talking he will be happy and even happier when he has a new friend, i was not saying to mix him with other guineas but just allow him to hear someone talking the same language

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

Because he is probably quite vulnerable at the moment. It would be cruel to do this. You can't let him bond or start to form a bond with another guinea pig and then separate them. Letting him hear other guineas and not letting him interact is cruel as well. :)

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

I agree with CC...getting him to bond with another piggie just for it to be taken away like ruby cant be nice :( :'(

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

Awwwwh that pigs so cute!

Awwwh go on jeanette, just two weeks until you could have him, and maybe in the mean time you could see if anybody near by had a younger guinea pig and see if Guinea bonds with them :)

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

;D So he is a character as well as looks. If guinea-tia-flossie doesn't have him I will. I wish. :( :)

totally agree

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

He really is gorgeous :smitten: :smitten: Guinea would love him.

When my Molly was suddenly on her own when Mitzi died, and we introduced a new baby guinea, it really perked her up and she became quite her old self again. x

Re: Guinea is feeling blue

ooooh look at him :smitten: Sorry my brother was doing course work all last night and i didn't get the chance to come back on :(

Last night as luck would have it, i got a call from the Rugby Rabbit and Guinea Pig Rescue saying that she has put the 2 girls up for adoption again as the women has not called her back. She wanted to know if i was still interested and i said yes, so i'm setting off at 10am (in half and hour) today to collect one! :D

Sorry Shaz, i wish i had seen your post before the rescue rang :( you know how much i wanted one of your babies

No it's absolutly fine at 3weeks, we don't want mummy getting preggy again if little galaxy humps her, and it can happen at 3weeks they can get their mummy pregnant lol
