One of our guinea pigs died last week, leaving our 4 year old boar by himself. They had been together as brothers for the 4 years. I'm worried because he's only 4 that he might have quite a few more years by himself.
It's been a consideration to get him a friend, but I don't really want to commit to another baby or get him neutered. I know this really only leaves getting an older boar but obviously this isn't usually advisable. He was the submissive piggy of the two, I don't know if this has any influence.
I just wanted to get some general advice on whether he would be okay by himself but if not how feasible it would be to go about getting an older boar?
Thanks!
