Hello, I'm new here. I have a guinea pig called Cookie who started limping a day ago but I didn't know until I got home. I examined him to see whether it was dislocated or broken but it wasn't. I've been holding him in a comfortable space and letting him rest in a bin full of bedding, food, and water so he can rest(without moving so much) but I'm not sure what else to do. I know I should take him to the vet but I don’t have 500 dollars for him just to get examined at the animal hospital.

I’m sorry to hear your piggy is injured.

Your piggy really does need to see a vet - I know it’s expensive, but providing vet care is essential and only a vet can determine the extent of any injury. Hopefully it’s just a sprain but your piggy will still need to see a vet to prescribe painkillers no matter what injury has actually occurred.
Can a family member of friend help you?

:agr: You really do need to see a vet to diagnose what the injury is. It could be a simple sprain. But your piggy will need pain relief and anti inflammatory medication at the very least.
