Guinea pig nose bleeding

Since this morning my guinea pig Cleo has been bleeding from the nose when he sneezes.

He still acts the same and his behaviour hanst changed, however i’m very worried as it is not normal for them to bleed at all.

I suspect that a piece of hay had potentially injured his inner nose, but it could also be a URI.

The blood just keeps coming and he keeps wiping his face but it comes out a little at a time and doesn’t seem like it’s a lot of blood at once.

I booked a vet appointment for tuesday the 9th which is 5 days away, so will he be fine during this period?

Vets are also expensive as hell here in Australia it’s crazy.

last time i checked there was still some more blood on his nose.

Unfortunately the vet i booked has no other available appointments until monday the 8th

Any bleeding which goes on for longer than five minutes and can’t be controlled needs to be checked the same day

Unfortunately there is very little we can advise in this situation

There are very few exotic vets in my area so i’ll try to see if there’s any cancellations. The bleeding seems to have stopped now

Hi all, i’ve managed to find a vet that’s willing to see him tomorrow in the morning, he is still doing fine, same weight, same behaviors, still eating. however, the bleeding still occurs. it is not as near as often as yesterday so it may be a good sign. hopefully he is okay by tomorrow. thank you

They have indeed. Vet says hes fine, could be something stuck deep inside the nose ut prescribed anti inflammatories and antibiotics. Bleeding is now completely gone
