Guinea pig with human names.

Hi all,

I was just thinking how it tickles me to hear guinea pigs with human names.
It's weird how somehow they suit the human names they are given.
I would like people to post pictures of their piggies with human names for my own entertainment.
So I can giggle to myself.
So far on Facebook, I have seen a Gus, a Martin, a Steve and a Dave. They all strangely looked like they would be called that name.
It amuses me no end.
To be honest it doesn't just extend to guinea pigs, it can be any animal really....
 
I don't have any with human names at the moment but I do know what you mean. I always seem to want to call mine a name that a human I know already has and I can't do it. I used to know a dog called Dave, the name really suited him and it made me laugh every time I heard his neighbours call him in for dinner.

Awww but Beryl is so cuteeeee.... <3 It doesn't make me giggle. It makes me go awwwwww because it reminds me of a sweet old lady and I think of a cute tiny old lady waiting at the bus stop with her handbag on her lap. :) It fills me with joy. <3
 
Yes I had one called Betty years ago as she was a white teddy pig and her hair was like a little old lady's.
When I first called Beryl her name it used to make me laugh ha ha!

I also had an Erik, Albin, Bengt, Glenn and Nisse... And a dog named Lisa, and cats named Rasmus, Mina and Smilla. But I still think the best petname is my cat Luffarn (Hobo in Swedish). He had the best name for his personality and lifestyle. He just loved to be outside and every April-August life was so great he was too busy to wash himself!

So many human names for animals! Gives me joy! :)
 
now come to think of it, our pet names are largely human names and a bit old fashioned at that... and arguably interchangeable with our childrens names! My brother - who is trying for a family with his girlfriend - asked us to please stop giving our pets human names as we were eating into their baby name list :)

Our piggies: Ted, Frida, Coco
Former piggies: Esme, Cosmo
Dogs: Bruce, Herbert, Tux
Cats: Brian, Ziggy, Victor
Hamsters: Nancy, Myrtle
Fish: Bernie, Sid, Beryl
Human children: Yasmin, Maxwell, Oscar
 
I have a mixture of names for my past and present piggies.

Deedee and Meemee were named after my best friends (Haydee and Mitzelle).
Timmy was named by the RSPCA and we didn't change it.
Bunny was named because she looked like a rabbit when we got her as a baby.
Cookie, well she was named that because I told hubby I like the name Cookie. 🤣
Prince was named after Prince Harry because he was a ginger!

My current 3 are Sierra (from Sierra Nevada), Rocky (from Red Rock Canyon in Nevada), and Vegas (obviously from Las Vegas). 😁

Everyone is so beautiful and well put together, Vegas looks like my boy Truffle. <3
The name Timmy made me smile because he looks like a Timmy. :)
