I've just read your thread and had to comment. I'm so sorry for your loss of Rose but you've done an amazing job with those babies and Thorn looks like he's thriving. What an absolutely gorgeous little boy, he's a credit to you.

Thorn has just eaten his first solid pellet... :)
hes doing so well...
I'm so proud of him...!

Congratulations!

You must be so chuffed! You have done wonders with Thorn!

quick question guys...
thorn has started biting me really badly over the last 48 hours...
hes nipping at my hands and anything that comes in close proximity to be fair...
any one got any ideas how to deter him from this...?
its driving me a little bit mental... hes caught me a good'en a few times now... and i must say it bloody hurts...!
lol

Can't help with the biting I'm afraid, but just wanted to say that what you are doing is absolutely brilliant. Keep getting stronger Thorn and Cleo and run free and play little Rose x

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with you having hand reared him, it might be something that he would do with his mother or brothers and sisters. I'm probably talking rubbish, it's been known :))

I hope the biting stops. You have done a fantastic job with him x

i think it might be because its only when hes hungry (which is all the time!) i think he asociates my hands with food and is searching for the food tbf... because i dont think his eye sight is that good... becuase some times i put my hand in the cage (especially if its on his left side) he wont come running over to my hand.... he will if its on his right side.... :)
so maybe its something to do with that...?

I love catching up on how Thorn is doing, you've done so well too!

I would leave a small bowl of slightly softened pellets as well as dry food in with him now and hay. A tiny pinch of probiotic added to the food will help his tummy digest the food well too. Now thay you have got him to this stage of taking larger feeds he will be ready to eat quite a lot too. He will be able to drink from a bottle too once he discovers it - I usually add a block for them to stand on so they can easily reach the spout.
