Hard-ish Dark Scab on Pig?

I came home today to find a spot on my guinea pigs face, I took him out to check him out and it felt kind of like a dried scab, but I never saw it until now and he does not have any spots like this anywhere else. Could it be mites?

I cannot answer the question but I always take mine to the vet with any concern.

Definitely a vets visit. Does not look typical of mites but could be a fungal infection like ringworm so always best being safe than sorry

I ended up using an ivermectin + water solution I had and it ended up working!

Yes, I bought the ivermectin that the vet told me and diluted it with water and it worked.

where did you put it, direct on that area? If so did he say to dilute it because it was being applied so near the eye? And did (s)he say you should apply it again in a couple of weeks?

It was an edible solution that they recommended, I lightly dipped a little fruit or veggie in the solution and fed it to him

He told me it was ringworm and that it could be repeated when needed

Ok. Have a read of the thread I’ve linked below. Did you clean out the cage thoroughly, change bedding etc? You also have to be careful as it can be passed onto you
