Thank you all. This is why I love this forum.

I'm glad things are looking more positive. I just can't stop worrying about her and I don't even know what I'm worrying about!

Lets hope the longer course of antibiotics do the trick! I have had traces of blood in my urine for years, and despite every investigation known to man nobody knows why:mal:. I have to force myself not to worry about it!. I will keep an eye on your updates on Emma, give her a hug from me. Am sure the cystease will help too.

Thank you. It's just this may seem a trivial thing to most people but I'm worrying myself sick thinking about all the what ifs etc. I can't shake that niggling feeling but my vet wants to try the antibiotics first.

I think I need to stop asking people questions over and over again but this is what happens when I work myself up

I really can't cope with poorly guinea pigs and it isn't fair on them :(

No one here minds if you keep asking questions over and over again. If it helps you , please keep asking .

I am aware this situation isn't helping with your anxiety but, please remember you are doing a really good job looking after Emma.

I wasn't going to update this thread until I had seen the vet on Monday but things have taken a turn for the worst regarding my piggies.

I have just written a separate thread for Enoch who has lost an alarming amount of weighthttps://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/enoch-has-lost-a-lot-of-weight-and-emma-is-still-poorly-cant-do-this-anymore.131017/ Both him and Emma are now off to the vets this afternoon but I really can't do this anymore. I know I'm a bad and selfish piggy owner.

I have just collected a urine sample from her and it still has blood after 2.5 weeks on Septrin. She also did a squeak whilst weeing which I haven't noticed before :(

Thank you.

Emma and Enoch are back from the vets. Emma still has blood in her urine but apparently the inflammation has come down. She's to go back to the vets in another two weeks and stay on the septrin for another two weeks taking it to four weeks in total.

Poor Enoch has to have a dental on Thursday :( but there's more about that in his own thread

Please send Emma lots of healing vibes. She is currently being treated for her third uti since May :( Bladder problems are a huge worry for me and fill me with dread after losing two piggies to bladder problems :(

She is back at the vets next Monday x
Emma you can get through this. Sending lots of healing vibes.

Sending you and Emma tons of love Claire x x

It's bloody stressful and exhausting isn't it. Stanley's been on 1ml of septrin a day which started on the 9th, so it's been 16 days so far and he still has blood in his urine. He's not squeaking when he pees and an xray showed nothing. I'm so terrified of this being stones cause I lost one of my girls during her second bladder stone surgery.
I'm so sorry you and your little girl are going through this too claire.
Millions and millions of healing vibes!
x

Thank you. It really is so stressful. Emma is back at the vets a week on Monday.

I hope Stanley gets better soon too x

I would be tearing my hair out if l had to deal with all your stress Claire. Please don't blame yourself. Lets hope Emma improves. These bladder issues are so tricky. I currently have 5 pigs on a combination of metacam, cystophan or septrin. I keep thinking l am doing something wrong but l know that rescue pigs do have a lot of issues and all we can do is try our best for them. You are definitely doing that! X

Just sending hugs as you are getting all the advice from the right people :-)
I'm just the same as you with my anxiety increasing tenfold around poorly animals!
I hope Emma is feeling better today? x
