Healing Vibes for Poorly Hazel and a Request for Advice

Sorry only just seen this thread. Sounds like you're having a bit of a rollercoaster with poor Hazel. Good luck at the vets tomorrow hope it's nothing too serious. Sending healing wheeks from Eddie and Elvis 💕

Good luck with Hazel’s appointment today.
Rupert had a little blood in his urine on and off after his bladder stone op too, hope it’s nothing to worry about xx

Sorry, just caught up after a busy couple of days. I’m so sorry Hazel is still having problems, hope the vet appointment today goes well and you can get some answers and meds for her. Sending hugs Yvonne you’ve a difficult few weeks x

Gosh poor Hazel has been through it! :(

My Grace was the only piggy I've ever had with a stone-she was also the only one that I only seen her drink 2 or 3 times in the 5 or so years I had her too!

She fortunately bounced back from her surgery really well, her stone was broken up on removal as it was stuck near her genital opening.

Rinsing, then leaving Hazel's veg quite wet might help to keep her hydrated & decrease the chances of another stone forming?

Hope Hazel gets on OK later at the vets.

Fingers & paws all crossed here for a full & speedy recovery xx

Just back from the vets. They didn't seem too concerned, Hazel still has some swelling to her bladder and it is still very sore. So we have another week of Metacam and Cerenia. I also have to bathe her feet in salt water ( I'm going to use Epsom Salts as it worked so well for @Betsy) and then rub in some Sudocrem. The vet said she prefers Sudocrem to F10 barrier cream.

Good to hear the vets don't seem that concerned. Fingers and paws crossed the swelling goes down and Hazel starts to feel more comfortable very soon 💕

Sending gentle hugs to Hazel and great big ones to you Yvonne. Your nerves must be jangling away x

Oh that's great news.
Piggie still needs mummys love . . But Brill news
Little Hazel you giving mummy lots work so be a good girlie. X

So, reasons to never send your OH to buy anything. As my OH was out in the car I asked him to pick up some Epsom Salts for soaking Hazel's feet. I did say to go the chemist and ask for them (this was my mistake as he will never ask for help in a shop). So he arrives back with a big pack of Epsom Salts, unfortunately they are bath salts and contain black pepper and lavender. 😮

I really should have learnt that it is best to do these things yourself. 🙁

My OH is the same! Men seem incapable of carrying out even the most simplest of instructions. My friend reckons its in their DNA. I asked my OH to put the bin out last night, simple enough job or so you would think but he forgot to put the food waste bin out and I did say that it went out with the black bin (it goes out every week). Did he put the food waste bin out? ..... Er ..... no. I found out this morning when I had to put out another food waste bag cos he had forgotten to put it in the food waste bin only to find that the bin men had been early today (typical!) and I have now to find somewhere to put the food waste for another week when my food waste bin is full to overflowing!

Mine would also rather be lost for hours than ask for directions. 🥺

Sounds positive for Hazel - at least there’s no stone.
Hope the meds start making a real difference soon.
Hope the feet get better too.

Well you can treat yourself to a nice relaxing bath now.
You probably need something to pamper yourself after all you’ve had to cope with.
Black pepper & Lavender sounds rather nice

Sadly we only have a wet room, so no bath for me. 🙁

How is Hazel now @YvonneBlue ?
Hazel seems a little better, we haven't found any blood for a couple of days and she no longer has a wet bottom. Her feet are still sore but seem not so red now. Managed to get some Epsom Salts so will start the foot baths today. I'm hoping she is on the road to recovery. None of this has affected her appetite, which is a good thing.😀

Such a relief for you @YvonneBlue. Hope she continues to go from strength to strength.
