HEIDI Poorly.. Pls wish her luck friends

We back and time to think vet was not great couldn't find her privates or correctly pick her up ok he went for 2nd opoinion and fill my head with lots things. I put on what he said.
we got metacam £19.62 for 3ml and Bayatril enough for 5 days and i have to make a decision. Heidi is home and really miffed and had a Syringe food and meds. She's 6 and I'm open suggestions at the end of the day Heidi comes 1st.
I'm very tempted to visit a excotic vet but help.

Hi Dave. My own thoughts would be to get her an ultrasound done as that will tell you what is going on. Ellen had pus in her urine once and it turned out to be a bad water infection. If Heidi does have a womb infection, it is best to get this sorted out ASAP by either strong antibiotics or a spay but that would depend on whether it is an open or closed infection and whatever your vet thinks best. If she does have bladder stone, surgery will be needed to remove them. I’m afraid I can’t comment on the mass but an ultrasound or X-ray will again tell you what you’re dealing with.

But if Heidi was my piggy, I’d be booking that ultrasound sooner rather than later.

I’m sorry it isn’t better news :( x

I’d be getting the USS done, too Dave to find out what’s going on so you can then decide what’s best for the little lady. Poor Heidi x
such a shock. this time last week or so she was so great
happy for cuddles and always very nosey now she's being syringe fed and looks lost
I will course fight with her
I don't mind the odd nip. lol.

I would be going to a different vet if he's struggled to find her lady parts! Even my niece and nephew could locate them without much effort! I've dealt with pyometra before and it cleared up with antibiotics. If you weren't confident in the vet then get a second opinion. In my experience you could pay £190 for the ultrasound but an inexperienced vet still won't see the issue and you may need it repeating with an experienced vet

I'm with at lady Kelly David. I would go for a second opinion before spending money with a vet that doesn't sound very piggy savvy! It's so difficult when faced with these problems, sometimes it feels as if whatever you do it will be the wrong thing. We are all here for you and Heidi.

she's had meds no 2 and a few biccy syringe . . lass is tired and not herself at all but I'm going have a deep think what's best for her.
I've managed tho a couple of people into and she's nearly 6 and a half and course a full girlie piggie.
tonight no moaning and gave Florence a kiss through the c+c .
Love her.
now she's asleep but wish she would eat leaves or hay

Hello all. Madam Heidi is still here and keeping me on my toes.
She's not well and nature is giving us a challenge.
She's booked in wed 10.am to a piggie exotics vet who looked after Chloe.
I'm syringe feeding wee lass and she's not right but I'm sure wed vet will help.
I've looked into Heidi history and lass is oap. she sends you all hugs. 20200201_131502.webp

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow David. You and Heidi will be in my thoughts. Fingers crossed it’s an infection than can be sorted x
