Help Me & My Girls Please

The crackling is very likely just from the cut in the nose. All disrupted breathing sounds crackly. Just hold your ear on the body and you will hear that the lungs are clear but that the crackling was coming from the nose area. It should settle down quickly, as soon as the bleeding stops and Paffy has a chance to clear her nose. ;)

Try to face Paffy against your body, so there is less likelihood of her injuring herself when jumping unexpectedly. Put her back in the cage bum end first.

I didnt dare to hold her worried that she will be in pain so didn't get the chance to hear if it's from the nose or lung but the vet told me theres blood/fluid in the lung after xray! So I naturally thought its because of that that makes her breathing crack cause we breathe thru our lungs right? Lol

Does this also mean what happened was just another accident and there is no immediate need to see a vet or hospitalise as long as her limbs are fine and she can still walk and eat? Just in case, but I will bring down my accident rate to zero [emoji15]

But anyway her breathing seems fine now thank goodness! But shes still quite stone now. Keep staring.into space [emoji20]

If you are totally worried, have her seen by a vet, but a small blood vessel in her nose bursting won't kill her, especially has her breathing/bleeding has already eased again. But like humans after an accident, she will be somewhat shaken in the hours afterwards, but should hopefully be back to normal again tomorrow.

Rest assured that a small accident like this will not result in congested lungs, the same as a bloody nose after you have run into a glass door at full speed won't have you ending up in hospital with pneumonia (although rather sore for a few days)! most of what little fluid there was she'll have swallowed anyway. ;)

I tried googling but couldn't find others with experiences like mine and the pessimistic eye only saw "death after fall" "internal bleeding due to trauma" all these made me errmmm broke down at the vet [emoji19]

Maybe I'm still not very over the passing of my two other pigs and this really scare the living lights out of me. I used to think piggies are hardy animals but now I see them as fragile as butterfly wings so any little things that happen out of the usual will make me go berserk. Plus the lack of common sense in this case [emoji16]

Its really good to know that she's alright and I just need to wait out. I am so happy now! Thou I definitely did over reacted, but it's a good lesson learnt for me.

Thank you/yall!

God, it's happened to my piggies, but as they are usually fine within a few hours or latest a day day, it doesn't usually get mentioned! You can't have piggies for any length of time without any unplanned little jumps and minor falls/heavy landings happening. ;)

PS: The human nose story is also mine...

It is difficult to get over jittery responses after losing two of your girls to pnuemonia so soon after each other.

Haha. And thank you for your kind patience!

Paffy's eyes look so bright! You have got yourself a fine piggy, mneo.

Thank you sweetie [emoji4] she's almost back to her normal self now. Been 24 hours since her fall :p
She looks lively for sure! Try petting her lightly to make her feel better.

Just saw blood in paffy's pee. Is this normal after a fall or what other possibilities could it be? Shouldn't be bladder stones as the vet did xray and didnt mention about that.

If it is really blood and not just discolouration of the urine, I would see the vet. The most common cause is a urinary tract infection UTI).

Welcome back!

Great to see that both your girls are doing well; they have a wonderful HUGE piggy palace that is perfectly adapted to the tropical climate! Truly spoiled indeed!

I'm glad to see you back and to see your lovely piggies in their piggie palace!

So great to see your girls again! I did wonder a little while ago how you were all doing. Is this Miffy and Paffy? They live in luxury with you!

Hi there @Piggly ! Thank you and Yes they are miffy and Paffy! :) they don't seem to like their new space but I need to get them to get used to it so currently forcing them to live there over the weekends for now just like a vacation house!

Anyway I'm not able to locate this forum on tapatalk like before. Anyone has any idea why ? For awhile I thought the forum moved or something..
