Help needed with c&c cage set up please

I've just put my 5x2 c&c cage together and I've ordered fleece for it but only ordered yesterday so I need a substrate until then.

I've purchased some from pets at home called back to nature bedding which looks like paper swirls but worried about the correx with wee.

Can I put anything on top of the correx and under the paper bedding to help with the wee? Was thinking of puppy pads but what if they get chewed?

I use puppy pads & wood shavings on the top with scatterings of hay- it works fine. I've been trying to.locate some biodegradable pads without much luck yet but when i clean them out i tip the waste into the compost bin, the pad goes in the bin & the corex can be wiped clean. Hopefully I can source something more eco friendly when i get time. I've never seen chewing yet so I think you'll be fine. Hay is more tasty!

I also use wood shavings but without the puppy pads.
Works fine for me and the correx cleans well with F10 wipes
