Poppy (the oldest) and cricket (my newest) have been in the same cage for 2 or more weeks now. They popcorn, run around the cage and poppy also licks cricket. However, every once in a while Poppy will nip at her. She doesn’t go and look for cricket just to bite, cricket usually comes by her and that’s when it happens(not all the time). She has never broken the skin and as far as I know Poppy has not done any teeth chattering or holding her head up high. Is this normal? Are they bonding? I’m new and would like anybody’s input
Nipping is a normal dominance behaviour - as long as they don't break the skin. If there has been no drawing of blood, there shouldn't be need to worry too much. People with more experience will come along soon
