Hello,
So I had to book an emergency vet appointment this afternoon as I found blood in Pips stools. The vet thinks it could be colitis and that Metacam (long term use) could be the reason. She has taken her off that and given liquid paracetamol 0.72ml 2 to 3 times a day for a week to see how she goes and I’m using fibreplex for rabbits probiotics.
- Pip is eating hay and drinking
- She is crying when having a poo (it hasn’t happened for a few hours now but I’m monitoring her)
- She is maintaining weight
- She has soft, smelly poos
- There’s been no blood on bedding or in her urine so we assume it’s coming from that area.
-She’s off veg for a few days due to the soft poo
- She is gassy at the moment (her stomach is going down gradually)
The vet says all her other vitals are normal, good stomach noises, heart rate, temperature etc.
Has anyone else had experiences with this and any advice is welcome.
