So, erm the fracas turned serious and I saw some serious fighting and found the cage with what seems like blood. Currently have them separated from each other but I only have one cage, neither of them seems injured but I’m scared!

Sadly once blood has been drawn they are unlikely to go back together, so you might want to start investigating alternative separate accomodation for them.
It's hard to deal with - I have had more than my fair share of piggy fall outs - but once their minds are made up there is nothing to be gained from trying to change them.
I hope your piggies are ok.

Hi! Have you looked at their genitals and seen whether one of them is bleeding from there?

I can’t find the source of the bleeding but it’s Speedy being really domineering that’s starting the fights. I’m sitting here crying and setting up the playpen to separate them. Poor baby doesn’t understand. I’d rather get another cage but keeping them without each other or another one isn’t good for them and I can’t afford two more guinea pigs or cope with two more guinea pigs. I really don’t want to have to surrender them to a shelter.

Hi! Just keep them next to each other. I am not convinced that the bleeding is from a biting wound. But by separating you should hopefully find out what is going on and where the blood is coming from.

Please take a deep breath! All is not necessarily lost and your boys can still happily living next to each other if it is indeed a fight and not the start of a urinary tract infection.

What’s the symptoms of a UTI?

What’s the symptoms of a UTI?

Intermittent bloody looking pees (this can be just drops at first) interspersed with clear pees is often the very first sign. Symptoms can take a few days to firm up. As it advances you get wheeking when peeing, frequent deep red porphyrine pees or very frequent stale smelling pees if you are dealing with a cystitis (bladder infection). The symptoms over several urinary tract problems are pretty much the same.

Your vet will usually treat with an antibiotic for UTI (urinary tract infection).

From my little experience my old boar would have pink urine, a slight loss of appetite and yelping when peeing and pooing. Have you check your pigs nails? Maybe a torn nail? Just a shot in the dark. Sorry i edited this reply, I'm so used to talking about my sow i forgot which pig

I have been hearing yelping, high pitched squeaks in the night but didn’t know who was causing it or why it was happening.

The blood on that plastic hidey though to me looks like a drip directly from a cut, looks just like a drop of blood from when i have cut the quik in my guinea pigs nail. Whilst you are waiting for a vet appointment, could you try getting each pig out seperatly and waiting until they wee or poo? See of one yelps or pees pink?

They’re separated right now.

Sounds like a vet trip (preferably cavy savvy vet) is in order, hope everything will be ok
