So, erm the fracas turned serious and I saw some serious fighting and found the cage with what seems like blood. Currently have them separated from each other but I only have one cage, neither of them seems injured but I’m scared!
I can’t find the source of the bleeding but it’s Speedy being really domineering that’s starting the fights. I’m sitting here crying and setting up the playpen to separate them. Poor baby doesn’t understand. I’d rather get another cage but keeping them without each other or another one isn’t good for them and I can’t afford two more guinea pigs or cope with two more guinea pigs. I really don’t want to have to surrender them to a shelter.
What’s the symptoms of a UTI?Hi! Just keep them next to each other. I am not convinced that the bleeding is from a biting wound. But by separating you whould hopefully find out what is going on and where the blood is coming from.
Please take a deep breath! All is not necessarily lost and your boys can still happily living next to each other if it is indeed a fight and not the start of a urinary tract infection.
What’s the symptoms of a UTI?
From my little experience my old boar would have pink urine, a slight loss of appetite and yelping when peeing and pooing. Have you check your pigs nails? Maybe a torn nail? Just a shot in the dark. Sorry i edited this reply, I'm so used to talking about my sow i forgot which pigWhat’s the symptoms of a UTI?
I have been hearing yelping, high pitched squeaks in the night but didn’t know who was causing it or why it was happening. From my little experience my old boar would have pink urine, a slight loss of appetite and yelping when peeing and pooing. I would take a vet tripI have been hearing yelping, high pitched squeaks in the night but didn’t know who was causing it or why it was happening.
They’re separated right now.The blood on that plastic hidey though to me looks like a drip directly from a cut, looks just like a drop of blood from when i have cut the quik in my guinea pigs nail. Whilst you are waiting for a vet appointment, could you try getting each pig out seperatly and waiting until they wee or poo? See of one yelps or pees pink?
Whilst you wait if you are getting a vet appointment, i would try and see which ones its coming from. I would check poo and pee. May aswell whilst you waitThey’re separated right now.
