High wind warning for UK

I hope you can keep warm enough. I'm wrapped in a blanket here at the moment, we had the heating on earlier for a bit but it's too expensive to run all the time. The piggies have piles of hay to burrow in as well as fleecy beds and seem happy. Caspy wouldn't eat his veg last night I think he was frightened by the noise of the wind. I hope Vegas picks up quickly and it's just the loss of electric that's bothered her.
 
The wind claimed a hi-vis asset last night, thankfully the officers are ok.

They were out of the van, so don't worry about it.
 
At least my part of the motorway network didn't get like this.

I thought that it was very clever use of words. I put a laughing emoji not because the incident was funny far from it - it could have been very nasty. I thought the use of the wording was funny.
 
I forgot to record it, got home just in time to see Stevie Gs interview.
 
We've been very lucky here. Aside from one (just one!) flickering light last night, and actually I might just blame the bulb for that, Rochdale's done fairly well on the weather front. No flooding, just strong winds. Not even sleet or snow!

Watch me regretting saying that when I wake up tomorrow lol. But I can't even hear the wind tonight and it was horrendous last night, one of the street lamps is out and that's about it. I hope everyone else has a better night tonight too.

Thanks. I just realised, having seen that someone had died in the related incident, that someone might not find making light of it amusing really. It's a fine line, especially nowadays.
 
It’s wild and can’t make up its mind whether to rain or sleet here at present.
Have to go out again soon.
 
It's been a beautiful sunny day here, didn't need the heating today the sun warmed the hose through the windows. Started to get very cold though as the sun went down. It was one of the type winter days I love.
