Senior Guinea Pig
How long does it take you every day to do all the essentials for your piggy?
I think I spend about an hour every day and an hour and a half to 2 hours every 3 days.
Each day the regular jobs are:
Clean out the litter trays, wash, dry, fill up with fresh newspaper and hay
Sweep out the three floors of the c&c. As Mork has recently had an op I am cleaning that cage out totally every day at the moment so getting everything out, cleaning the plastic bottom and replacing everything with clean fresh stuff (can't wait for him to be totally healed!)
The of course there is veggie time twice daily, washing veg, chopping veg, serving veg.
Topping up hay and pellets
Rinsing water bottles and replacing water
I am not counting lap time or getting them out for a run as that's fun time!
Then every 3 days I completely clean out the 3 storey cage and that takes a while - between an hour and an hour and a half depending on whether I go flat out or not. Today I had to do it with the girls still in the cage as Mork was enjoying the run so much I didn't want to get him out.
So how long does it take you? I know I asked Bonnie a while ago (before she upped her pig quota) and it was about 45 minutes for loads of cages which I think is pretty amazing - she must be way fast.
