Hi!
I’ve got two guinea pigs at 11 weeks old and I think I’ve been over feeding! I read that young guinea pigs should have unlimited pellets so I’ve been letting them have quite a lot. Now I’ve read that they should only have 1 tbsp per pig! They’re currently on adult food and I think they’re choosing pellets over hay a lot of the time. They do eat their cup full of veggies a day! So should I cut them to 1tbsp per pig?
Their weights are 440g and 446g if that’s any relevance!
Thank you in advance. ✨

Do drop their pellets down to one tablespoon. They shouldn't have unlimited pellets.

They can have slightly more of the adult pellets until they are four months of age (1-2 tablespoons per pig per day) and then from four months dropping down to one tablespoon per pig per day, but you need to encourage plenty of hay eating - the more hay the better - and if they are favouring pellets then I would keep them to one tablespoon.

No problem! Will definitely drop them down from tomorrow. I need to start ignoring other websites and Facebook groups. 🙄
Thank you! ✨
