How old were you when you got your first guinea pig?

I was 8. I got Zoey and Lola for my birthday from mum and dad. I know that's bad but look where I am now! 4 years later and they are my life! How old were you?
 
I got my first after reading a book about the when i was 13 :) 13 years later and i have 8!
 
I was 13. Went on about getting a ferret for ages so my mum literally jumped at the chance of the guinea pigs when she knew it would stop me masking for a ferret :(|).
 
I got little Sweets for my 20th birthday from my husband :) then after 4 months of begging for a second we now have Fez.
 
Umm trying to work the dates out I would have been around 10, possibly 11 as I didnt write down the exact date that I got him.

I had him for 3 years and loved my little squeak so muchx) He would have been around 5/6 when he passed away so a pretty good age for my first pig :)
 
I got my first Piggys when I was 20, as my valentines prezzy from my other half this february :) best prezzy ever......five months on 2 became 4 when we got two more :) xx
 
I got Fred when when I was 23 - 2 years on he and 5 furry's are still in my life - along with Bette who is twinkling in the sky! x
 
I got my first piggy aged six, 38 years later and around 1000 piggies I'm still hooked (lots of pets and the last 8 years rescuing). I usually have 30-40 piggies at any one time, though did go up to 64 last winter.

I think I was around 3. We had a lovely boar called Ginger (who looks surprisingly like my Rita) for around five years. Then when he died we then had (unsure in what order if I'm honest) at least 4 or 5 more.
 
I was 3, my nan bought me two 'healthy plump' females as a birthday present which as you can imagine, turned into 8 within a couple of weeks!

25 years later and many many pets inbetween I still love them' just as much! :(|)
 
I was nine, the people across the road got gerbils and I really wanted one (no idea why now, one of them bit me). My mum went shopping on Christmas eve to get me a gerbil took one look at them and was like 'not having one of them' and then saw the guinea pigs and got me Jacob pig. I'm now 23 and I think i've gone about 4 months without having guinea pigs lol. I miss Jacob every day though.
 
My parents were both great animal lovers so we always had cats, dogs, piggies, fish and rabbits as kids.
I vividly remember the piggies all being poorly with something when I was around 5 (too young to understand then) and mum had wrapped them up in little blankets and put them in our 'best' room where no one was allowed and sadly, we lost them 8...
I had rabbits and cats when I married and left home then had dogs for years - over the last twelve months have aquired 12 piggies x) Have so much more time now for them as the kids are grown up. Have always laughed at people who say they fight for custody of animals when a relationship breaks down but can relate to them now - I would kill for my lot :))

Apart from Pat who has beaten me, (I was more like Midge's age) I got my first piggies 11 years ago.

When I was a kid we had dogs, cats, rabbits, even a pony when I was around 11, but I can honestly say I wish I'd discovered piggies much sooner :)
 
I was 7 or 8 when we got the first (family) piggy and I must have been about 16 or 17 when I got my first own piggy (my sister got the other one).
 
i think i was about 20 years old when i got my first piggy (20 years ago) had a massive gap inbetween and got my next 2 about 4 years ago and its just growm from there xx

I'm 49 if that makes you feel better (still act 20 most of the time though) ;)
 
I was about 3 but the piggy was my sisters who were older. Then I got snowy when I was about 6 then amber, Maria, nutmeg and George at 7 then when they passed I was about 10 then didn't have any until about two years ago and my brood has kept growing to 15!
 
I was 21 I wanted a rabbit when my friend come with me she had to move a guinea pig out of the way to get to the rabbit I wanted. (they kept rabbits and guinea pigs together then) The guinea pig squeaked and I said ohhhh did you hurt it. She said nope thats the noise they make. I was fascinated and had to get my self one. I called him Ted cos he was a Teddy rex. :D
 
I'm not sure how old I was when I got my first guinea pig. My brother bought him. I think I was somewhere from 7-12?

But as for my first guinea pig that was my own, last year. I was 20. =)
 
I am 33 and got my girls Penny and Ingrid this past February. They are the first of what will be many more to come!
