I was 24, just turned 24, too. I bought Loofah from a petstore, terrible idea, I know...I wished I hadn't...but, I won't give her up. Sundae was pulled from the same petstore before becoming 'bait' for something...erm, larger. I had Loofah as a sole pig for...about 4 or so months before taking Sundae.

Well our first piggies were for the kids (Duke and Sully) and i was erm 47 then........
but MY first piggies are my darling girls (Velvet and Onyx) and i'm 55..... :))

I was 6 and I had 2 guinea-pigs. Since then there's been 43 guinea-pigs living here (not all at one time!) :)

I can't remember my first pig, but he was 9 when he died and he died before we moved house, which technically would mean that he was mine even before I was born. I got Flash when I was 7; I remember him. But technically I have had pigs all my life and I'm 21 now. :)

Lucky duck! Who do you foster for?

An owner contacted the Northern Ireland Animal Rescue forum I'm a part of when she needed to give up her piggies. As I was a part of the North West Pet Rescue team, I offered to foster them and homecheck any potential homes for them.

The kids fell in love instantly, and so did I. rolleyes

I was 5 when I got my first piggy - Snowy. She died very suddenly at only a few months old. I've always loved animals and pestered my Mum to get another one, so we then got Sandy when I was about 6-7. I don't remember, but apparently I felt bad that Sandy was alone so asked Mum to get her a friend - so along came Bubble and then shortly after Sandy gave birth to Topsy, Tim, Ging and Nip (the guy in the shop swore blind Bubble was a girl).

(I was 33 when I got my next piggies!)

I was 8. I got Zoey and Lola for my birthday from mum and dad. I know that's bad but look where I am now! 4 years later and they are my life! How old were you?

Hi!
I was 34, when we got ours 4 months ago, and hope they will be the first of many! I don't think it's bad, as long as your parents have read up on guinea pigs and happy to help you look after them, it's great for children to have a pet. My son is 9, and now enjoying our first guineas, although he wouldn't help me clean out the hutch if I didn't tell him he had to!:))

I was very young, had to be under 6 years old but I wasn't that interested in them back then and so my mother took care of them. For that reason I count my first Guinea pigs as the ones I took full responsibility for and that was when I was 17 years old. :)

I was 10yrs old. I was completely responsible for him. I cleaned him out and fed him everyday come rain, snow or sunshine for his whole life. The only time my parents fed him was to give him kitchen scraps, he was my whole world for the 7yrs that I had him. I did have some more after him but due to falling pregnant had to rehome them. And now I'm 27 and have another 2 piggys that I love x) I'm now secretly plottin to get more if we move to a house with a bigger garden but shhhh dont tell the other half :p

I got my 1st pig back in mid 2005! So I've kept pigs for 6 years! So I was 12! :o

Loofah is such an amazing name for a pig! (will store that one for later use...)

I got my first pig when I was about 16. He was called Nigel. he lived with two other boys called Kayto & Clouseau who was my Mum's and my little brothers.

Both my parents had pigs as kids and quite a few at that! Sexing accidents with piggies and petshops are nothing new!

I had a break after I left home until my last year of Uni when I got Dill then when he passed away I got Merry & Pippin.

Moved in with my OH the other year and sadly we lost Pip earlier this year.

We dated Merry and he chose Suilven. My OH helped choose him too and she was so chuffed with herself! (Suilven is her first Pet that she chose herself...)

Hopefully there are many more to come!
