flintstones gives a very good point i'm at my limits with 4 and that with only one being ill thank god for overdrafts

bribary and corruption.... :)
lol
you could say your fostering them as a teperary mommy and then in a few weeks time say you couldnt give them back and have asked to adopt them... :)

I hate to put a spanner in the works, its all very well to say I have space for 2 piggies but do you have time and money as having 7 pigs is a big deal.

With more piggies you have to accept there is also more Vet Care, in the last 2 months I have spent over £150 in Vet care, and one of my pig has a follow up appointment at the end of the month so thats going to cost more money.

If we have another horrible winter will you have enough space to bring them all in if necessary?

I only say this, as I was bitten quickly by the bug. I have 6 pigs, I did have 7 sadly lost Bette in November and although I love them all I do feel it is alot to look after and can be very costly between food, bedding, vet care, time and grooming it takes alot of my time. I would never change them but I do feel 6 is to many. Although I have money, time is difficult especially when a pig is very poorly like Bette was I had to call in sick to work so I could get her to the vet. I was up at 6am to syringe feed, I did my very best to provide for her, and she never wanted but it was very emotionally draining and stressful.

Ofcourse if the answer is yes, you have time, money and space then add away. Don't jump in without thinking!

My pigs never got poorly until recently and between this year and last the amount of times we have been to the Vet is alot! :)).

This is why I'm not allowed anymore, my OH has a sensible head on. Extra Hey and food isn't such a big deal but Veg gets expensive and you can bet my luck they'd need the vets every other day! :{

There's a lot to be said about having a sensible head, as some things are just easier with 2, for example my friend also has 6 pigs, she's going away on holiday and has no one to watch them. 6 pigs is to much for a lot of people to take on especially when they have pigs of there own.

That's another thing to think about if you and other half go on holiday who will watch the pigs?

Hi I have 7:))

I did have 4, then I got another one, thought hubby wouldn't notice one more:) turns out she she was pregnant and had three babies! unfortunately we lost one of the older ones:( now hence the sevenrolleyes

The piggies are upstairs n another room and he usually never comes up but he noticed the new additions one day! he just rolled his eyes and said I hope you can afford to feed them!:{

He did moan before and said no more but really deep down I don't think he minds, hopefully your hubby will be the same:))

Good point, we have just had to cancel our holiday and one of the reasons was trusting someone to look after the pigs, especially Nigel who has a lot of health issues.

I'm the same , i have 6. I do wonder sometimes if I'm doing them a diservice ie with time etc. I'm lucky though i have 2 jobs. I'm home in the day from 12-4 and dont work weekends so i do have the time to give them attention just not as much as id like!

Also how to gt your hubby round? do what i did when i was at my mums. Get them anyway, get the set up and everyhting you need! lol worked for me "oh btw mum we have new piggies :D"

Some boarders will do it, like me ;) am having a group of 8 for one client this year (6 girls together and a pair of boars). I did a discounted rate for taking so many.

They have booked 6 months in advance though and if they hadn't I would never have had the space at short notice.

Yes exactly, we recently went away for the wknd and despite leaving an A4 page of instructions my mum still got it complately wrong. They were so pleased to see me when I got home! :))

Just get them they will be your responsibility. I am sure you dont stop him doing the things he wants to do!

I could not belive it last night I was talking to our son about our 8 piggies hubby comes in and says I thought we only had 7! So I dont think he has any idea lol
