I found a lump on Anna

Well, it’s an abscess. Anna is booked for surgery on Monday. The vet asked if she could have been nipped by another pig, I did have to switch Tiana over to her side of the cage when I got Rapunzel and Belle a couple of weeks ago, so maybe it was Tiana. Tiana was bullying the new girls, but once I put her in the other side, Queen Elsa put her in her place!
Sounds as though you've caught it early, well done.

Lets us know when she goes in. We have all been in you position and it is very worrying. I'm sure Anna will be fine!

All the best with the abscess surgery! We've been through a couple of those. I would ask the vet to check the teeth while she is under anesthesia. A lot of abscesses along the jawline are dental-related, even when they occur relatively far back.

Thanks, I will mention that to him.

Anna is at the vet now, probably in surgery since there was only one surgery before hers. Now it’s just waiting for the call...

I have now been through 4 piggy surgeries and every time he called me after 4:00, so I’m not totally freaking out yet, but I am getting worried since there was only one surgery before hers
Maybe the surgery beforehand was a long one which may be why there were only 2 surgeries today. Olaf does look thoroughly fed up without the love of his life! You still have around 40 minutes until 4.00 so there is still time. I'm sure she'll be fine.

Just got the call, Anna is out of surgery and resting comfortably on the vet’s lap. He said it was an abscess and he tried to get it out in one piece but it popped so he had to take a little more tissue out and flush it a lot. He said it was behind her jaw muscles so it was not a dental issue, must have just been an injury or something. His first surgery and Anna’s surgery took longer than expected. She will be ready to come home in about 2 hours.

Oh that's good news that she is out of surgery.:yahoo: Not good news that the abscess popped while being removed but just as well it was removed cos it may have popped inside otherwise:yikes:. A bit of tlc from you and Olaf and I'm sure Anna will be fine!
