I found a lump on Anna

Aw bless, she looks much brighter hopefully she'll start attempting to eat soon. I really don't like injectable GA, as it can have really bad side effects on these little guys but equally it is necessary at times especially for a big op! I have found sometimes it's taken as long as 3 - 5 days for the piggy to bounce back completely. Just keep up the syringe feeding, does she have gut stimulants?

Glad she has some more painkillers Hopefully she's on her way to recovering now!
I’m picking up the gut stimulants later today

Hopefully once you start them she'll want to eat for herself. It may take a couple of doses but once it starts working she'll be eating for herself. My vet advised that once Christian was completely off syringe food and totally eating for himself to continue gut meds for another 24 hours and then stop them. Your vet may well say something different though.

I can’t tell if she is not eating because she has no appetite or because it hurts her jaw. She chews really slow right now. She is doing good with the syringe feeding today. Hopefully I can get her weight back up, she was 802g before surgery and weighed 722g today, she is a very petite piggy. I guess some of that weight loss may have been the abscess.

How about puréed food as you would do for a baby?
A few years ago I had a sick piggy and I bought a jar of baby veg so he could eat for himself.
Her jaw must be quite sore after that op - no wonder the poor love doesn’t want to eat

That’s a good idea, I have been alternating critical care and mushed up pellets, she Might like something a little more tasty!
