I need a friend for my guinea pig, but need convincing!

Hi,
I recently got a guinea pig called pocket. He is super cute and sweet and is acting great however, I want to give him a friend! I adopted pocket a month ago from a friend who found out he's allergic. My parents agreed to this as long as they didn't have to do anything. Now, I am asking permission to get another one but they are refusing. I am trying to convince them but they don't entirely care that pocket is lonely. They say 1 guinea pig is enough, but don't care it is enough for them, not for pocket. Does anyone have resources or anything I can do to convince them to allow me to get another one? I offer to keep him in my bedroom but they don't want any pets in the bedroom. Were a family of 7 in a large home (so space is not an issue at all). And it is my money and my responsibility. Still no. Anyone have any ideas?

I only have 2 and Luna still follows behind Nova in the little row. They really need friends no idea what mine would do without each other! Nova cries if she cant see Luna and Luna wouldn't try anything new without Nova investigating it 1st. They get depressed without friends. :soz:
