Hello my name is Vulon and I have recently found this website. I adopted a Skinny Pig recently from a friend who couldnt take care of him. He has some problems with his skin right now and I'm wondering what I should do as I'm not experienced in Skinny Pigs. They look like flaking, but are red around the flaking. Not sure what to do. This is urgent please!

Please have your piggy seen by a vet. There are many things which can cause skin issues, but a hands on vet check is required For a diagnosis and any necessary treatment.

Hello, welcome, hard to say as Skinnys are extra special,
A vet trip is needed as poor piggie could be in pain , ,

Hello and welcome
Hope you can get his problem sorted soon x

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I have two skinny pigs and so far we have not had any skin problems. However, like all guinea pigs, they can catch skin diseases and these need to be treated by a vet.

Please take your piggy to the vet as soon as possible, not only can skin conditions be very painful but some of them can be passed on to humans.

Sorry I can't offer advice on skinny pigs as I don't have the experience but I wanted to let you know that I have changed the location on your profile as you had put your address in which was visible publicly. I have put just your state on but if you did want to change your location details you can do so through your profile settings

Turns out he just has dry skin so I've been helping him by rubbing light coconut oil on him everyday. Hes been seeing signs of healing, just hoping for the best.
