i think my sweet piggie is passing away

My guinea pig is 6 years old and she is usually lively and independent but for the past 2-3 days she hasn’t been able to walk very well, she’s shedding (not itching at all.) not eating well and now she’s not really taking water. i’ve been able to hand feed her a little but she cannot walk she has her back legs pushed out far behind her and her stomach is a little bloated. i’m worried and scared and i don’t know what to do she also has developed diarrhea today

Please have her seen by a vet urgently.
You must also step in and urgently syringe feed your piggy.

a piggy who isn’t eating needs to be syringe fed 90ml of fibre rich recovery feed in a 24 hour period. Hand feeding a little here and there isn’t enough.

It doesn’t necessarily mean she is dying but a vet will be able to diagnose and treat the prolem. I hope your piggy will be ok.

Please let us know how she is getting on. If she is passing then it may be best to help her with the vet if nothing can be done so she isn't suffering. Fingers crossed xx

Please have your guinea pig vet checked so she can get any necessary treatment to recover and enjoy more quality of life or have a pain-free, gentle death if her quality of life cannot be restored. Without a diagnosis and any necessary medication to help with the loss of mobility and the bloating as a secondary issue as well as - equally important - your support feeding home care to keep her going through the crisis, she will die slowly and in major discomfort from your inaction and lack of food.
