hi just got back from the vet 30mins ago then i settled Boris into bed:)
the vet that didnt know much listened to what we thought and i told her to remove the cart and she did yay:)) he is a little down in the dumps but gave me lots of love and kisses before i think he is a little happier and she gave me metronidazole to help clear his sores and more metacam so finally he got some meds that he needed:) unfortunantly his leg seems to still be out of use but i guess we will have to wait and see i am not happy with the vet that put the cart on she didn't even ask oh and Glynis my vet that is going to contact brendan is on holidays for a week and the other vets don't really want to ask for help i dont think i have suggested it to them but i dont think they listened:{

this is Boris when i brought him home before i think he looks much brighter:))

Poor darling Boris, those pics of him with the cart broke my heart-he really looked uncomfortable. He is so adorable, I really admire you for keeping going with him. Give him a little kiss from me. WE LOVE YOU BORIS!

thanks so much i might have kept Boris going but truthfully everytime i feel like I'm about to break from this or i feel upset its everyone on here that understands me and lifts my spirits againxxxxxxxxxxxxx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Aww bless him he does look happier, I didn't think he looked too unhappy before but I can see now he looks much brighter in himself. Bless him. Fingers crossed for him I dare not show Emily my daughter she will be in tears though! Aww x

I'm so glad he's looking a bit better, best of luck to him with the sores and everything. I'm glad you're there for him, lots of healing wheeks to Boris from my girls and sympathy from me.

I'm glad you got the rollers off and something for his sores. That'll cheer him up. He doesn't look as if he is in so much pain as before!

Keeping my fingers crossed that the leg will come back!
Go, Boris, go! You're nearly there!

My goodness, what a day for poor old Boris! Emotions have got the better of me seeing these pics of him, he looks so vulnerable but so trusting. Fingers crossed that things pick up very soon. Counting the days until his splint can come off!

i just want to say, he is such a lucky lucky pig to have you for his mom. he must love you sooo much, and when he's all better he is going to be the most loyal piggie in the world!
he's so cute, and small and vunerable and your so strong to be able to do all that your doing.
keep strong, love to boris!

Aw how awful. >.< I'm so sorry you have to be going thru this. :( I hope your vets understand what you and your piggie is going through. This is truely difficult. I've never been in you spot, but I feel your pain. Poor Boris, I hope he does well soon! :'(

hi all is better with Boris he is much happier although showing his boredom and depression i have been out today to get him some piggy treats and am trying to find more things to make him happy i tokk some advice given to me on here a little while ago and have started introducing Boris and Basil into the cage together i am hoping over the next few days Basil can stay perminantly,he seems gentle with Boris so i don't think there will be a ****.my OH is giving Boris his meds right now and it is a slow process he normally takes anything in a syringe but i think it tastes yukky.we rang the vet that did the wheels to let her know what happened last night and even after we told her about his discomfort, pain and leg probs she wants to put them back on ahhhhhh

Some vets seem to ignore the mental wellbeing and instead think that solving the physical problem - by any form - will be better for the pig. Speaking from experience in regards to elizabethan collars and leaving a mutilated foot to the open!

I am so, so pleased to hear he is doing much better. I think many of us have become quite attached to him by now, he's a little star.

thanks laura this support for him is amazing I'm sure he feels like part of a big family:))he does look more bright for sure i agree with you the vets aren't caring about his mental wellbeing which seems to be just as important as physical

Ooo that looks nice Boris!

So pleased he has improved! I'm not keen on wheels for pets unless they are happy with them of course and Boris didn't look too impressed! Keep it up Boris! :)

Keep it up - as the wheels will be only for a few days, anyway, don't put them on.

Having Boris and Basil together for longer periods will cheer both boys up a lot more! But better not have them together when you can't keep at least a casual an eye on them.

All the best to a very specal boy! How's the leg?

oh i've just been reading over this whole post and i wanted to say well done to you and boris, he has one of the best and most loving owners a pet can have. You have never given up on him and i'm sure he can sense that, he will get better with your love and support. I think you should always stick with your instinct on things like that, as you know your little borris more than the vet does, plus they don't see him like you or i would, and may not see the mental pain the little chappy was going through. Well done to you and you should give yourself a pat on the back,,, borris is very lucky to have you.:)

Thanks yes i agree not quite sure that they should be together un supervised but just spending time with Basil and more time with me even though the vet said complete isolation i think he is doing great from it:)as sad as it is from watching his leg i am thinking he will be lucky to have half use of it again:(but the other leg is great so he would still be able to be a happy piggie i hope x

thankyou it makes me feel better i sometimes need to know i am doing everything possible sometimes i just think maybe its not enough but TGPF members have helped me to trust my instincts xxxxxx

More love and healing vibes to Boris and I hope he and Basil get on well and can stay together :)p

Hi, Just read through the thread, oh he looks so much happier now he's of those wheels - and that plate of food looks yummy he must know how much he's loved :) All the best vibes coming your way for Boris :)

Boris will get on with life with or without full use of his leg - animals do adapt so much better than we.

But you are doing your very best to ensure he has the most possible mobility, and that is important. You're not giving up on him, and he knows that!

It is always darkest before the dawn. Not long now!

Big hug from Wiebke

thanks he is a happy little boy atm he i on my lap right now i think he is watching the tv though lolmalletheadi think i may be nuts

nope, bertie likes it best when lying on his daddy's chest turned towards the tv, especially if sport is on, I think it's the colour green that does it!:)) honest
