Angelina sorry It complicated.

Lacey is certainly not fat she has almost lost her entire fat pads and vet said it she normally this wide? She is skinny and backends of guineas are bigger than front I am def taking her to different vet for checkup
 
Bit of an odd question but could you post a photo of her eyes?
 
At one point I believe lacey wss around 1.3kgs so I think it is something bad whi

Of course I will also post her from above I doubt she has big cysts because she is smaller than before when amy had tumours she stayed big but she was all tumour and my tia seemed normal also when she had cysts (years ago)
 
How long ago was she that weight?

The eyes are to check for mycosis, is most likely not that but can result in significant weight loss as the pig wastes away. My Barney has this sadly. If I could see her hair too that would be good.
 
Is it catching as her husband died of wasting away he had every xray ultrasound blood test going I was syringe feeding him and was to go back to vets in 2 days and he just gave up
 
Yes in a way as it is a systemic mycosis basically from a fungal infection that has become and internal issue due to spores being ingested. It is something they could have had even before they came to you if they were rescues. Not saying it is that but it is one of many possibilities. I lost my Buzz to it, and we think the original carrier of it was Gertie our first pig as she had never ending skin issues and I didn't know then what I know now. Though I do think Buzz arrived with it too as he was living in filth before he arrived and so any skin issues would have gone untreated.

They both look very slim to me, how old is Ruby?

On the eyes I was looking to see if they were bulbous which is a sign of mycosis but they don't look it to me.

I would book an appointment at the better vets asap, and see about an xray or scan. She also needs her teeth checking I would think. Do the wee test in the meantime too.

On another note, does she have any of the following:

Laboured or rapid breathing
Nodding in time with her breathing
Hooting
Any history of repetitive URIs
Lethargy
Difficult to rouse
Random coughing

She makes an almost choking hicuppy noise when eating veg but always has I figured it was her eating too quickly.

she moves around normally but so did george he just got thinner. I am guessing ruby is about 7/8 months only cause I guessed she was 4 months when I got her she was a unwanted pig at pet shop

I would keep topping her up with the syringe feed for now until she gets seen by the better vet. Any idea if she is eating her pellets yet?
 
George was always getting mites or lice. He came with mites then lacey came with lice he was 5 though and she is only 2.5.

Ruby is fine she is putting on weigh steadily.

I do need different vet only went because I wanted metacam quickly as it is too far to my good vets to get there before work
 
Hope you get them all sorted soon. From the photos neither of them look overweight but I just put my 2 on a diet so what do I know!

She hasnt since I was watching her this evening
 
On the first eye photo is that just the effect of the photo too? or is it actually watery? or the hair is not quite right?
 
That's good then.

I would see if she can actually eat a pellet.
 
I did try putting one in her mouth but she doesnt attempt to open her mouth but she never has taken a pellet from me only veg. Is there anything yummy I vould test with? She is eating hay
 
Is she eating soft hay or stalky?

How about a piece of carrot?
 
Thats a good question. She is def eating meadow hay but I bought some alfafa king timothy to try and fatten her up but not sure if she has eaten any ill hand feed her hay to try. She was eating fine beans earlier but not sure if she had any carrot I will separate tomorrow morning for breakfast veg so I can monitor
 
You're welcome, was just thinking aloud really. How old is she?
 
Bless her, hope you can get some answers soon, let me know how she gets on with the stalky hay and the carrot and if she takes it can you look at how she's chewing.
 
She was chewing her mash so she can chew to a degree off now to order some of those straight jacket thingys from chucklebunnies. I yave one from 5 years ago nut new design looks better thinking it may help for xrays.
 
That's good she can chew a bit.

Good idea, we have a similar thing and it was useful for Nigel's xray and they use them at piggy clinic too. I use it for syringe feeding if the pig does not co-operate but they are great at getting one paw out.
 
Yes I know about the paw thing. surprisingly lacey just sat their last night whilst syringe feeding. I had her in a cuddle pocket loosely wrapped and she was very calm. Think it was down to getting her in a good position
