Thanks Kelly love, i'm having a bad day today with one thing and another what with the boy's and their skin, her and the bunny and flaming Huxley intimidating Hamish; because they're in the "drying" hutch i can def see whats happening & i DON'T like it!
No wonder i have psoriasis, all i've done today is :'(
Thank god for this forum and people like yourself who listen to me sounding off

Sorry to hear you are having a bad day, she sounds like a nightmare. I've recently become a bunny mummy and my arm's scratched to bits. Yet the lady at the rescue picked them up no probs! I think it's a matter of confidence and I'm hoping I'll get better at it. If he's uneutered wait for her reaction once he starts spraying and trying to hump her leg ;D ;D

LMAO Kathryn, he isn't neutered, he's only 8/9 wks old - I hope he doesn't do it to me, i'll have to wear wellies! :o
 
Niki, are you sure she's 19 ? She sounds like a 12 year old going through the 'I want but now I have I don't want that anymore' stage ;) !

Could you threaten her with giving the rabbit away? I know you wouldn't want to do that though as you sound very attached to each other. When rabbits are affectionate they're lovely (mine is going through her 'love you' stage at the moment, aww!).

The only other thing is charge her for everytime you look after the rabbit - you'll be rolling in it in no time ;D
 
I've just left my precious pets 33 gp and a dog who lost his brother in july and a parrot who hates males in the capable hands of 2 of my sons for a long weekend break, Stuarts 25 next week and Liams 17, both knew they would be shot if they neglected any of them but i am happy to say, the animals came first and they were looked after, Stuart said Max the dog did'nt eat much but i knew as much as he was probably thinking first charlie his brother left him now us, bless him, but to my surprise he said the pigs stopped eating as well, only starting when I got back, ahhhhh they love mummy, but not all kids are bad with animals, all of mine, I have 5 kids have been brought up to love and treasure animals, maybe your OH daughter did'nt get that instilled in her and thinks what she wants she must have, my daughter knows if she did'nt help me with the pigs her 5 pigs would become MY 5 pigs, no messing,
 
Personally i think its nothing more than jealousy! I have piggies, the 3 dogs are mine - they follow me everywhere, but they would do 'cos i'm the one who plays hide & seek with them and buys them sweeties & has time for them (they are all my kids).
I know she & her sister had cats & dogs when they were growing up and she had a hamster (when she lived with her mum) but obviously i don't know what was instilled in them.
However, common sense has to play a part and a young adult of 19 surely knows that they are responsible for the well being of their pet, or mebbe it's me being too hard on her as i'm not a parent :-\
I will be having "a talk" when she gets in about the state of his hutch!
What a mess it's in! You can certainly tell where his toilet is! No wonder there were flies all around the hutch and that's with me letting him in the run for over 12 hours a day!
He's moved into the gazebo now, i've just spent the past 10 minutes trying to catch him in the dark as he knows it's time to be locked up and just doesn't want to go.
Watch this space as i think i'm gonna be adopting a bunny! ;D ;D ;D
