Last time I looked after them was last April, and they had only had them for a few weeks and they were tiny. I didn't know if she still had them, she takes really good care of them but they are from pet shops and all of the pet shop guinea-pigs I've known of have died quite young, but she asked me to look after them for a week, and they are really big now. They are both boars, but I've forgotten their names :))
They are a lot more tame and friendly than last time and they both run to the side of the hutch to say hello. They are so lovely :) The run they have is seperate from the hutch and their owner asked me to put them in the run if the weather is ok, but its been raining the past few days so they haven't been out the hutch, normally, with my guinea-pigs, if its raining I let them out anyway because their hutch is attached to the run so if they don't want to go out they can go in the hutch but I don't want to put the other guinea-pigs in the run if they don't have much shelter, and they have a little igloo but I don't know if that would really be enough against the rain.

Would some tarpaulin over the top of the run be ok? Or would it still be bad because of the wet grass?

First of all, well done you.

It's worth checking the weather forecast, I'd be inclined to put the tarpaulin over the run and hope it dries out as its not been cold, the warm weather may dry the grass with the cover on, either way it can't hurt. Then take a view if the grass is dry enough. I bet they'd be happy for some free running. xx>>>

I would be careful with putting inddors piggies on wet grass - the wetness can cause UTI more than anything else. If possible, please wait until the grass is dry.

Tarpaulin is OK, as long as you can tie it in a way that cat can't wiggle in.

The only thing I would say about tarpaulin is be careful if the weather does get sunny because it can cause the run to become very hot, so you maywell have to keep running back and forth to the run covering and uncovering them xx
