I tried fleece once before and it was so hard to deal with, the washing and stuff...So I gave up and switched to megazorb.
More like...Megamess. It was worth it, though but about 4 days ago, I noticed that Arnolds feet were quite red and he seemed to be a little tender when waddling about. Ralph seemed a bit irritable but I can't tell how his feet are, since they're black. I just guessed from his walking; that he was a tad sore himself.
I lace the cage with the stuff because they just can't be trusted.

Anyways, being the soft touch I am, switched back to fleece that very day.
I got their old litter tray out, well both of them and filled them with hay.

At first I tried half and half. I did half fleece and half newspaper. The fleece was a bit damp where they sleep, which is to be expected but other than that, most pee's went in the trays...Poops...Not so much.

So I've totally given in and am giving fleece another go.
I'm gonna buy one of those hammocky hammocks wash bags, though. It makes it easier. Brushing the hairs off the fleece is a piece of cake...But the washing isn't so great.

Here's my boys. Chillin' on their fleece:

I decided to go with white! Makes spot cleaning tons easier. Brown fleece and poop mix far too well, I can't quite see what I'm picking up :{ Not to mention that Ralph is like a ninja on brown fleece!

How happy are your boys? :)

I must say that my boring brown beige fleece has the same advantage...

But I feel like I'm facing the stable of Augias in my cage every morning in terms of seven piggies' PILES of poo EVERYWHERE! mallethead

They didn't seem overly bothered. Arnolds had random popcorns here and there and Ralphs been falling asleep in the middle of the cage, out in the open, which he NEVER does. So I think that means they're quite happy with it rolleyes

I was hoping they'd go crazy but if their feet really are sore, they might just not feel like it just yet.
I hope the craziness will come eventually :(|)

They haven't been charging around for over a week now, which is odd for them. I'm thinking of extending their cage. As they've gotten bigger, the cage seems to have gotten smaller :(

As you can see by the picture, with pigloos and litter trays, they aren't left with too much room. They have about half a square *C&C) or room behind the pigloos but it still looks tiny.

I would recommend happysoles from gorgeous guineas for sorely dried feet, used it on furby and worked a treat! :)

Some bepanthen salve (from the pharmacy) can help in the interim, btw.

It's amazing how much piggies grow, isn't it?

With seven, even my living room suddenly feels small, when the whole tribe rushes towards me for dinner!

Ive converted to fleece for two of my cages and will change from megazorb when the bag runs out. They just look so comfy on fleece and it doesnt smell like my vet bed used to. I got a lovely blue fleece yesterday with fluffy sheep on it. Mimsi is very proud of his new fleece...

My piggies are so different since I introduced fleece, they popcorn everytime I put a fresh one in! It doesn't smell either, and I am surprised about that, they only issue I have is the hay getting stuck to it but that is my problem, not theirs. ;)

For that, I have a cure!

I bought the most amazing lint brush from ebay!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350197333021&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Gets hair and hay off my clothes. With fleece, I find that it gets about 80% of the hair off and all the hay.
Best item I have ever purchased. thanks to this, I can wash my guinea loving clothes in the washing machine without fear!

Also, thanks for the suggestions!
I work in the baby section in work, so Bepanthen is something I can get with ease. It really is true...That stuff helps everything! People come in and buy it for all sorts of things, even to help heal tattoo's :{

I'll say! A year ago, that cage looked huge and they could fit in the palm of my hand, now they make the cage look half the size. I never imagined they could get so big.
Although, I love it :(|) they're just the right size for being petted and cuddled.

Tonight, I caught Ralph running laps around the empty space in the cage.
It was very funny.

I have one of the large play tunnels right in the middle of the free space and he was darting through the tunnel, then running around it and then he'd zoom back through it again!

So I'm pleased to say that they're certainly enjoying their fleece.

Neither of them have been running laps for a while now.
Arnold still seems unothered by the change but I have to say, he comes out of his pigloo a little more often since the change.

CUTE! Glad they are enjoying their fleece. I couldn't go back to megazorb either it makes such a mess and that mess together with the hay was just too much!
