Meet Miss Maude (was Ms piggy!).
On a Guinea pig FB group I saw that someone was looking for a home for their 4 year old Rex. I changed my mind at first as I’d only just lost Mary and Lottie.
But a month on and I was ready to open my heart again
So today I drove just over an hour to meet half way with her owner.
She messaged me before we left to say her eye was weeping and sent me a photo. I could tell that she possibly had Ectropion. She said her eye has always looked like that but never been watery before.
I decided to go ahead of course!
She’s currently settling in, I haven’t seen her talk to the others through the bars yet but I’m sure she will when she’s ready. She lost her friend a few months ago so has been on her own a while. I'm Hoping to bond her with Lion and Emily, Emily was a little quiet after Lotties passing, she’s happy again now but thought she would like a female friend again.
I’ve just had a good look at her eye, her eye it’s self looks clear and fine but I’m quite sure I can see a small flat piece of hay under the fleshy bit, it’s proving impossible to lift out! Looks like a vet trip already
Though will have to wait until tomorrow or Tuesday.
I think I’ve decided to call her Maude. My Nans name, my mums, (Mary) mum!

Bad photo but Her dodgy eye..

Lion sniffing the air suspiciously..
