Is it just me or does this piggy look undersized?

Oh bless her! I did have to look closely as I thought she might be a hamster or definitely a guinea pig younger than a year old.

Please let us know how she gets on.

I honestly thought this was a hamster until i zoomed in. I normally hate people who say this lol

This reminded me of the time I was appointed as Lara's pet parent. Lara was about to be homeless so I took her in and got her a cage for $100. I already had my boy Finn at that time and was actively searching for a boy cagemate for him.
Finn and Lara live in seperate cages nearby each other and it has worked for us. My boy Finn is a year and a half years old. I don't know how old Lara is really.

Lara's previous owner, my friend, told me she didn't know guinea pigs ate veggies. Lara also didn't have much hay either. She was living on pellets all by herself, alone in an open playpen when I got her.

It's so upsetting that many people don't educate themselves on what their pet needs before adding them to their family! I'm glad you were able to rescue Lara. It's so satisfying to give a pet a good home.

I know In the US petsmart is awful they give you the worst information you could get about any animal. Its crazy what people will believe. Honestly, think how boring a guinea pig would be to look at in a really small cage. You would miss out on poporns, very occasional wheeks, zero laps, no exploring either. That's probably the main reason people rehome pets that don't have the proper care.
 
I am glad they appear to be getting along well. They actually look happy together. :nod:

So true! It should be illegal to sell pets without giving proper information.
 
So cute! There are a lot of different sized piggies... we've had Leela since she was about four weeks old, so I know she has been well fed and cared for, and she is not much bigger than that at age two. One of our other past pigs, Frenzy, was about the same size her whole life. The funny part is that our other pig is quite large... people have asked me if Leela is Hadley's baby a couple of times due to the size difference! I'm glad she's good a good home with you... that fish tank is just sad!

That is actually really good to know! I didn't realize how drastic their size differences could be. My piggies in the past have always been a similar size. Maybe Calla is older than she looks! Only time will tell.
