Is it ok to let my newly paired boys be unsupervised now?

Just to start, the boar I just adopted is Pumba (4 year old cuy mix) and my boar that needed a partner is Pete (3 1/2 shorthair). They are in a 30 sq ft enclosure with two large two-way hides and two pellet bowls (since they got territorial over them).

I put Pumba and Pete into their enclosure together after having it completely cleaned and so far I haven’t seen anything concerning, but they are still establishing dominance and chasing each other around occasionally. My question is, is it safe to now leave them unattended?

I haven’t left my room since I put them in about 16 hours ago cause I've been too nervous to leave them alone lol. I gotta make myself food and get some things done, but nobody in my house is willing to watch them for me. I even set an alarm to make sure I checked on them every couple hours while sleeping overnight because I had anxiety over something happening while I wasn’t there, but luckily last night they’d only chased each other once and didn’t even chatter once that whole time.

Two of my pigs attacked each other previously while trying to introduce them and then my senior guinea pig I was going to pair with Pete passed away last month, which is a large part of why I adopted Pumba. Pete came with me to the shelter to be paired and he did the best with Pumba (I also fell in love with how cuddly he is) so we took Pumba home Saturday and gave him some time to settle into the new environment/have some time with Pete outside of my room before I cleaned everything and put them together last night.

Just really want these two to work out since I’ve seen a dramatically positive change in Pete’s behavior, he was biting the grids of his enclosure and now that’s completely stopped overnight!

Yes you can leave them unsupervised now. Just be aware the the hierarchy/relationship establishment carries on for up to two weeks after bonding. It sounds like they’re okay though, have faith 🙂
