so i’m going out of town for 5 days this week, and i’m leaving my piggies with my grandmother for those few days. usually my pigs have 2 connected midwest cages and free roam most of the day, but my grandmother lives in a smaller apartment and most likely won’t have space for both cages. my question is would it be okay to leave them with one cage for the days that i’m gone? i know that one midwest cage is just enough for two guinea pigs, but they’re both used to having more space to themselves and i wouldn’t want to stress them out. any advice would help!

Are they boars or sows? And how old are they? Depending on that answer, it would be okay though not really ideal. Would they be able to have floor time at all? Or is there a way you could set up a play pen to give them more space? Could you have someone come and check on them at yours?

they’re both sows, one is just over a year old and the other is about 3 months old. i live sort of far from anyone who would be able to check up on them so it’s best to leave them with someone i trust to watch after them, but we’re currently trying to figure out a solution so i’d be able to take both of their cages for them! i don’t want to stress them out in anyway so i’d prefer being able to give them the space they’re used to. i was just asking in case there wasn’t any other option.

They would be okay but it would be better for them to have some run time. Have you considered a pet boarder?
