Hi there, can somebody please tell me if its save to use antiseptic spray (RenaSan Animal First Aid Spray) on a wound and also a mite treatment (Beaphar Anti-Mange Spray) at the same time.

It would be wrong of us to advise you to use any home treatments for any issue. We don’t have any information about the wound you are dealing with and so could only advise you to seek the advice of a vet. Antibiotics could be needed rather than just an antiseptic spray for example.

Has a case of mange mites been diagnosed by a vet?
The issue with using those kinds of the shelf parasite treatments is that they are not appropriately dosed to deal with an active infestation so often they only suppress an issue but don’t cure it.
A vet would normally prescribe the correct Xeno product dosed by weight for a full six week course of treatment

Please do see a vet if you suspect anything amiss with your piggy. Self diagnosis can often be incorrect causing more pain and suffering for your piggy and more expense when you do see a vet.

Hi, sorry I haven't been back on here. Thanks for your comment.

It was because Edie's hair had become matted at her butt. When I went to cut the hair off I realized she had irritated skin around that area and she had a small wound. I ended up using the antiseptic spray and it healed within a few days. I wanted to treat her for mites also because I wasn't sure for definite what the wound was from. (The matt wasn't too big so I was worried it could have been a coincidence.) However, I don't believe she had mites thankfully. She's fine now. 😊
