Is my housing appropriate ?

Such a shame that some people just don't like to take advice which is given politely and in the best interests of their piggies.

I must admit the cage size guide could be misunderstood because of the difference between the RSPCA/Humane Society recommendations and the Forum 'strongly recommended' guidance. Maybe there is a way of making this clearer. I guess some people will think that the minimum recommended by the RSPCA/Humane Society is OK (hopefully we can convince them otherwise).

I am not making excuses for the rudeness of the other person in this case but just thought i would take a look at the cage size guide as though i was someone looking at it for the first time.

I have noticed a rise in the number of people being rude on the forum, not sure if this is a symptom of frustrations/anger caused by the current situation with COVID19. I know this doesn't excuse rude comments from anyone but we don't always know the situation of the OP or the state of their mental health. I know i find that currently i can get angry quite easily and overreact to things that normally would not bother me too much. If i find i am angry when typing an email or message i save a draft and then go back to it a little later (when i have had chance to calm down). I often find that i can then write a much more reasoned response.

I agree. Mods, could you go over the stickies regarding cage size when you have 5 mins. For example on the sticky it reads like 3 pigs are ok in 2x4 C&C and 4 pigs are ok in 2x5. Even though if you read it properly underneath it says 2 pigs in a 2x4 and 3 sows or 2 boars in a 2x5. Just to stop any confusion

Some people on here are so rude! 😅 Why ask the question if you're just going to reject the answer! Out of interest how many guinea pigs maximum could I have in a 6 x 6?/how many would you recommend? Which I think is around 210cmx 210cm? I'm not going to get anymore as I've been Lucky that mine so far get along well. If they did a few poos a day I might consider it. But the thought pops into my head every now and again. Just to imagine 🤣🏠🐖

I think about 12 would be the absolute limit? @Piggies&buns @Siikibam what do you think?

Have a look at this thread where the minimum square footage is discussed.
Confused By Calculations!
First pig needs 7square feet minimum, each additional pig needs additional 4 square feet minimum.
my maths isn’t great but I think that 210 cm x210cm equates to approx 37 square feet. On that assumption, I think the maximum number of piggies in that space would be 8 -9.

Ohh wow still alot of pigs! 😍 Wouldn't get that many though I think it's better not to have the minimum space I'm always tempted though to get an extra one or two but it's not worth the risk of them all not getting along ☺️ many thanks very understandable!
