Is this ramp okay?

Thank you for the pics Floydie,

I will show them to hubby tonight, I'm sure theres something that can be done to make using the ramp easier for them.

I have tried again to open a case against the seller and the service just wont work-its so frustrating! mallethead
So ive sent the seller a message giving all the details of the problems with the hutch again-its also warped and doesnt go together very well and I think the fact there was leaves inside shows it wasnt made to order.I also said surely if the 'rust' on the bars was from a the dip used to stain the hutch they should clean it off or dip the hutch before putting the bars on? I said I thought I would give them chance to resolve it before opening a case (only cos I damn well cant!).Ebay is so rubbish sometimes and impossible to get in touch with.

I'm hoping the seller will agree on a partial refund of £20 but I doubt it.

The seller has replied but there are still no comments on the state of the hutch-they just keep asking for photographs.

Ive just messaged and asked why they need a photo of the ramp? If they made it they would know the design surely? I said the only picture I can give is of the rusty looking bars because for obvious reasons the leaves were cleaned out!

Its driving me mad now-I just wish the service for opening a case was working-why isnt it!

Hm, sometimes ebay can be a bit temperamental but please don't give up :o
Click onto the 'Contact Us' in the right corner of your ebay account and this comes up:
http://resolutioncentre.ebay.co.uk/ then find the item in question.
Take it from there. Ebay will contact the seller for you after a period of time and act on your behalf - they have never failed me to date.
Let me know how you go and if I can help with anything?/

how ridiculous! I wouldn't be happy giving a hutch with that design to my rabbits as I don't think they'd manage it, and yet they say it's designed like that cos it's for rabbits? I've never had a hutch with that design for a ramp, it's always been that it's taken them straight into the upstairs bit, no awkward turn for them, or at least a little bit for them to "land" on before having to turn. I'd keep at ebay (could be worth complaining to paypal as well if you paid that way?!), I've found if you're in the right (which you obviously are) then it's usually fairly straight forward to get things sorted.

Arrrgh!
Ive tried again and it just has red writing coming up everytime which says PLEASE COMPLETE ALL FIELDS BEFORE SUBMITTING TO CUSTOMER SUPPORT! Ive checked it through over and over and cant see that theres anything ive forgotten to fill in. grrrr

Thanks I will check them out but it seems that with everything ive tried you go around in a circle and end up at the place where you fill everything out for the case and it just wont send.

I'm currently on 'live chat' with someone called Anne from customer support but I'm starting to think there isnt really anyone there because shes taking a VERY long time to answer my question!

Yay! I take it back-ebay are great!

I managed to get to speak to an online adviser and she tried to help me set the case up but it still wouldnt go through.
She said they are having technical difficulties so it would probably be best to ring them-I expected to be waiting forever for someone to answer but they answered straightaway.

The man on the phone has now set the case up-the main reason is that its not as described i.e does not state you have to tell them if its for a rabbit or a guinea pig.

I have asked for a partial refund of £25-thats how much the postage cost so they are lucky I'm only asking for that.

My hutch with a ramp has the hole a good six inches away from the end wall so the occupants have more space to turn round at the top. *I've also found that piggies (especially older ones) can take a while to figure out how to use a ramp. How easy they will find that arrangement I don't know I'm afraid, it may be fine once they get the hang of it. *I do love ramp tunnels, they avoid falls and make the piggies more confident to go up and down, but if you had one it would have to stop well before the top of the ramp or they would walk into the wall!

hey lovely thanks for that i have a new out door hutch and mine is really not sure how to use it! to give her more space in the winter whilst she can't go out on the grass!

Have you heard anymore?

The seller emailed me last Friday saying they wanted photos of the ramp and the 'rust' on the bars-I did this.Today they are asking for a photo of the whole of the hutch. They said that the ramp in the photo doesnt look damaged-I told them that its not damaged and they dont seem to understand that I have opened the case because they do not state the hutch is for a rabbit!

The seller also said that I should have returned the hutch straightaway for a refund so I have sent a message reminding them that they state they have a no returns policy and besidesI wanted to see if the guinea pigs would use the ramp and that I wasnt to know that they wouldnt be able to.

The 8 days is up soon and theres still no resolution so ebay will be taking over- I will be glad when its sorted!

Ebay won't let the seller get away with it so you may end up with a full refund :x
Think of all the lovely things the piggies could have not to mention the satisfaction you'll feel :)
They really are trying to wriggle out of it aren't they mallethead

Yes, I think they are definately trying to wriggle out of it.
Fortunatley when ebay take over they will be able to see the messages between us and theres one where they say I should have told them the hutch was for a guinea pig and they would have 're designed' the ramp! I asked how I should know this when they dont state its for a rabbit!?

Their spelling is pretty bad so I think I'm dealing with a bit of an idiot.mallethead

This ebayer is driving me nuts! mallethead
The messages are coming back and forth and all they are doing is trying to get out of it.They are now implying I intended to use the hutch until something better came along and then get my money back!
I reminded them that they state they have a no returns policy!

I also sent them the photo of the ramp which they asked for and they said that there is a ledge-where?!

The chance to resolve it between us ends on friday and then I am handing it over to ebay-will be interesting to see what they think.

My girls have a ramp it took them a while to get used it, it also has like a railing makes them feel more secure!

I'm sure they would use the ramp if it went up to a bit of a ledge but theres nothing there-just the hutch wall so how can they turn around?

Hubby is going to see if he can remove the ramp and then fix some kind of ledge on.I will probably put carpet on it too.

such a shame I recently has a dispute with a buyer who did a but it now then come to get it n didn't want it so I was left with it looking as though sold n it hadn't
was a total nightmare but on the other hand I purchased a huts like yours it came today and has a ledge etc
I do hope * get this sorted I know how frustrating it is with a dispute ongoing in there

Well-I won the case! :(|)

Ive had a message from ebay saying that I am to return the hutch for a refund but I will have to pay the postage costs.
They have given my a voucher code for 25% off parcel force so thats a help.

I bet the sellers very annoyed because they said they wouldnt accept it as a return because its been used.I did just ask for a partial refund of £25 but ebay for some reson think its best that its returned.

Back to hutch hunting!

Yay, that's great news :)

If a picture had been available of the ramp we wouldnt have purchased it-I suggested to the buyer that they should have a picture of the inside available then maybe it wouldnt happen.

We are going to go for a single story hutch because thats what the boys are used to-I dont want to have to worry about whether they will use a ramp or not.
