Just thought I'd share here the issues my Itsy is going through ( mainly for good vibes and reassurance but also to hear other peoples experiences).

A couple of weeks ago I noticed 2 lumps on her belly (between nipples and genital area). One smaller than the other and both feel under skin, internal. Booked to see vet and waited a week because Simon at the cat and rabbit clinic wasn't there. Simon explained there is no way to know what it is other that removing and sending to pathology or a biopsy. Biopsies are not very accurate due to small sample. Because Itsy is a young pig we decided to go with removal of one lump, pathology report and then decide what to do with other lump. It could be a aggressive tumours, it could be benign or it could be hormonal. If hormonal it means her season is longer than it should and she would need a spay.

She is booked to go under this Wednesday. At the same time her weight has been decreasing from 1040 last Tuesday to 1005 on Friday, to 980 Saturday and 960 today. She does eat but slowly and I have been given her additional syringe feed. Unsure what to think and if it's related to lump or anything else.

Soooo, good vibes needed, I am so anxious for my sweetie girl :(

First of all I really hope she will be ok.

My Little Rose has lumps in a similar location but we are leaving them as they are for now as they don't seem to be affecting her and she has not lost any weight. I will be interested to see what Simon finds out though.

Thank you Helen, will update! The lumps appeared very suddenly and my first fear was ovarian cysts as she lately has been a bit too dominant with her friends (more than usual). The weight loss started after the saw the vet.

Poor baby, hope you can get a clear diagnosis and a good treatment plan in place to get her well again. Lots of good luck vibes going your way

That does sound as if it is something more than Little Rose has as hers have been gradual. Hopefully Simon will be able to give you some answers.

Fingers crossed for Itsy. I wouldn't have though it would be ovarian cysts as they show up on the back, just under the rib cage. Sending healing vibes. If anyone can get to the bottom of it Simon can. x

Hope you can get some answers as to what they are. Let us know how little Itsy gets on. Lots of healing vibes x

Thank you all!

Yes, I had no idea as I always thought they would show under. Simon showed me where the ovaries where located. Learn something new every day :)

Thank you for your good wishes and sorry for the late update!

Itsy had her op and is now sporting a huge scar. The wound site looks good and she is set to recover well. But remember I mentioned the weight loss? Well, she kept on dropping and the vet found a teeth issue, so trimmed the molars. Her incisors at the front are slated and she is still not eating much :( I'm supplementing with critical care every few hrs but wondering if these need to be trimmed too or is just a matter of time until they wear down?

I'm seeing the vet again on Tuesday so he can see how they look then but wondering maybe what you think @furryfriends Excellent Adventure Sanctuary Debbie?

Healing vibes to Itsy, glad she is recovering. Hopefully Debbie can help with the teeth advice.

Cracking scar you have there Itsy. Mummy will get some fresh grass as it is a great apatite stimulant, helps wear your teeth down and it tastes just yummy. Suzy, Simon will trim and do whatever he thinks best for Itsy's teeth, trust him.

Thank you all! Oh yes, I do trust Simon, have the best close to me so that's great :) I never had to deal with dental issues before so was just a bit curious about other experiences.

Itsy is back for a post op check on Tuesday so Simon will have another look at it. And then a 10 day wait for the histology report. Itsy still has one lump under her other nipple.

Teeth are strange. Sometimes the incisors can look a complete mess, and the back teeth are perfect. Other times the incisors look great, and the back teeth are all over the place, and sometimes it's a combination of both. I really hope the histology shows there is nothing sinister going on. So glad she is doing well post-operative. x
