Hello all. Recently my guinea pig Johnny has been starting to eat less and less. At first i thought that he had issues with his teeth and I of course took him to the vet to get checked. The vet said that all of his teeth are fine and that his problems with eating most likely stem from the really hot weather that we've been having here. That was a couple of days ago and i have since moved him into a cooler room. However, both yesterday and today he has been eating very little (if anything) and i'm very worried. For instance, a couple of hours ago i gave him a little piece of tomato (which is his favourite food). He took it with lots of excitement but then proceeded to not eat it. I'm definitely planning on taking him to another vet tomorrow, but i'm very worried about what his problem could be since his teeth and mouth are fine.
I'm not a native english speaker so please excuse any grammatical error.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I’m sorry Johnny is eating less. I would soak some of his pellets in hot water and then cool them down and syringe feed him until you can see the vet tomorrow. Let us know how you get on.

Hello and welcome to the forum
Hope poor Johnny picks up soon, I would see if you can find an experienced guinea pig vet to have a look and see if it’s a dental problem? Step in with syringe feeding and daily weighing, you will then see if he is actually losing weight, in that case he is not eating enough x
