I'm back
my computer has been broken for a few weeks, so I have been unable to get online. I have quite a lot to update to you all:
Junior recovered well from his URI infection, after he was fully reovered he also found a new friend baby George...things were looking up or so I thought.
George had two bold patches on his back, I checked both boys over and could see lice in their fur, so I treated both boys with a spot on treatment. It all cleared up very quickly and Georges fur has now almost completely grown back.
Fast forward a few days, Junior starts itching the fur around his eyes and ears a little. I thought he was having a reaction to the spot on treatment, so I took Junior back to the vets (about the 4th time this month he's been there!) turns out he has ringworm! I also had two little rashes on my arm, he passed the ringworm on to me aswell. The vet perscribed Suroloan Ear Drops & Cutaneous suspension for Cats & dogs, this really doesn't seem to be helping! This morning he had been itching the skin around his eyes, quite badly and it had been bleeding. So I had some Canesten, clotrimazole 1% (the phamacy gave me some clotrimazole 2% to put on my arm and mine has cleared up very quickly) I thought the 2% might be too strong for Junior, so put some of the 1% cream on him. I put it around his eyes, both sides of his ears and a little on his feet to try and stop it spreading further. Is this the best thing to do for him? I scrubbed the cage, threw all the wooden items away
washed all fleece and towels on 90degrees, threw all their toys away and they are on newspaper which I am cleaning out everyday to try and get rid of it all. The vet told me to seperate George, he doesn't seem to have caught it but when we seperate them George squeals to be with Junior. If anyones got any advice it would be very much appreciated, I haven't had internet access, so my mum has been passing some information on to me.
Thank you,
Rachel x
